Is this even a question? The PC will wipe the Xbox

Also, bad PSU. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd get at least the EVGA 430w 80Plus Bronze for a 1080 being full cheap [:

I would rather pick a 1070 and improve other stuff. This is seriously unbalanced. Doesn't have enough storage, might blow up, no overclocking. I don't want a new Ryzen system like that

The question is if you would take half the performance for half as much or 2x the performance for 2x as much.

It actually will game better that way than getting a better CPU with a worsen GPU though...

is this a legit build or shitpost?

The build is not the main point the question is weather you would pay less for half the performance or 2x as much for 2x the performance

Normally i would agree but ETH mining has the prices for 1070's almost as much as 1080's

Pay 2x the amount for 2x the performance, which also means less upgrade down the road and more money saved in the long run.

Depends. At 1080p 60Hz (already twice as much as console [bad_word]) both graphics card feel the same. Also, CPU intensive games like City Skylines (with a huge city of course) will feel much better on a powerful CPU.

If you do old style close every thing to play a 1400 4c/8t is perfectly capable of pushing enough frames to justify a 1080 in any game, 1080p max out still is an amazing experience, if he wants to play The Witcher 3, Tomb Raider and so on the GPU weights far more.

Since it's USD I'd easily go for the PC. However, since I'm in Canada and if I had my friends on Xbox One instead of PS4 I might opt to grab the One X and a few games with it. Regardless 9/10 times buying a PC is better.

Main Rig Specs:

CPU - I5-2500k 3.4 - 4.0 GHz

MOBO - ASUS PBZ77-V LK

RAM - 8GB DDR3 GSKill Ripjaws

GPU - GTX 780ti

PSU - 600B PSU EVGA

Case - Bitfenix Merc Beta

Cooler - Be Quiet! Pure Rock Slim

I'd...rather get the Xbox if I had to choose between that and the proposed build. Quadcore mid 2017, a slow AF 8gb stick, cheap PSU and cheaper case. That poor 1080 shoved into an unbalanced build.

At least the Xbox could double as a 4k Blu Ray player without needing to do janky stuff to achieve the same for PC.
