MS support isn't really know to be great :P Last time I waited 30min before I even got transferred to india

I wasn't suggesting running the VM permanently, just to troubleshoot, would eliminate a lot of things that could be the issue

I updated the bios, and it works now. Thank you and everyone else for all your help.

Ok, did you check whether win 10 supports your hardware? I mean, it should...

I've ran windows 10 on athlon 64 x2 systems before, so a core 2 quad is plenty...

He booted in Linux before, maybe not anymoar.

+ I've noticed differences with OS and faulty hardware. Back in the day, one of my HDD's was about to go down. I could get windows XP installed, no issues. Windows 7 would BSOD.

@ topic starter, try removing all your mining cards, and try using the bare minimum on GPU powah while trying to install your windows...

I don't have mining cards.

I have 3 old gpu's that i use to power 3 monitors. I have a radeon 6670, radeon 6450 and geforce 8500gt. Not exactly mining cards...

EDIT: i did try to install with just the 6670 in, same problem

Yeah, should be, ran it on servers chips of that gen ...

You could try running a windows VM, to eliminate a few options

You mean instal linux on this thing and run windows in a VM? Not an option. Linux doesn't play nice with 3 gpu's.

I had very bad vsync problems running linux.

I would suggest passing the GPUs through with KVM and running Linux on just 1 GPU (if you have onboard then I'd use onboard)

It's a good idea in theory, but i run 1 monitor off each gpu. So that won't work...

Yeah it would, your windows VM won't be different GPU wise to running windows directly

I just don't want to deal with it all. And running 2 os's eats ram, and i don't have a lot...

I just think it's crazy that an os that m$ charge €135 for is so problematic sometimes...

I'm gonna try and call microsoft support or whatever and see if they can help.

MS support isn't really know to be great :P Last time I waited 30min before I even got transferred to india

I wasn't suggesting running the VM permanently, just to troubleshoot, would eliminate a lot of things that could be the issue

lol

are monitors crt?

crt maybe upto 85hz(in fact most run 75hz)

it was the lcd monitors when they came out that needed 60hz "lock" to hz

analog fills memory space up then dumps memory after (if 75hz) 73 1/75 cycles 2cycles to memory cls time

then open windows 3d manager(not nvidia or amd)

add nvidia.exe and amd.exe to windows profile list as if they were a game exe
