Best used GPU for under $400

I'm getting a massive payment of $400 from something business related so I want to upgrade from my GTX 1050ti.

 

On Amazon where I always buy everything because it's reliable, there are several GTX 980s for sale under $400. I'd still like to have enough left over to take my lady to Olive Garden (Usually under $30)

 

Out of the following, what's my best bet for price/performance?

 

GTX 980 Kingpin Edition - $337

GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0 - $350

 

The SC and Classified editions are both over $350, so...no to those.

 

The GTX 980ti generally runs up $500+.

 

There is also a GTX 1070 on Craigslist for $300...Should I take it?

 

The GTX 780 FTW is on Amazon for $270 as well, some go up to $325.

You can't find any used 980 Tis? I bought mine from Amazon for $350 last year. They're usually in the $300ish range now.

 

I can't blame you if you don't trust ebay though. I haven't gotten in trouble yet so far though.

 

I personally am too scared to attempt to meet people on craigslist. haha.

Get the 1070 ASAP. Then sell it for $500 and scrape together a bit more and get a 1080, or just settle for a 980 Ti.

Meh, I've done a ton of work on carpets in the past without issue. I think it's true wool carpets that really do it.

Oh wow, you weren't kidding. I guess they ran out of 980 Tis. I guess the miners have raised prices for 980 Tis as well (Probably from fed up people who can't get a 1070).

 

I hope you get it though. That's a great deal, even for a FE card. That's even lower than what I bought my two 1070s (used) for.

Alright. I would look around for non FE cards. Should not be significantly higher. Look ebay as well.

Also it's useful to edit your post out to include the 1070 is FE in OP since not anyone can scroll through bunch of texts.
