Im trying to rip a blu-ray not sure which option to pick

the two 24.1 GB titles are 12 seconds longer than the top one they all have the same audio options

You have to look at the segment map and look it up on make mkv forums to see which is the right one.

It looks like filename 800 is english, 801 is fresh, and 802 is spanish.

Ripping BluRays and DVDs is illegal, at least in the US - even for archival purposes.

That might be, but unless there is tool which would be used to crack DRM, talking about ripping software is fine. Cracking DRM isn't. US is in minority in this, and OP didn't specify where they live. In future, be sure to report thread if you feel its against the rules.

Sorry to tell you this, but its not up to you who "Hold weight" its up to the courts. And due to the buckets of money they throw at Congress its also up to the movie studios.

I'm acutely aware of how our legal system works, thanks. Congress is out of the picture; they already passed the DMCA.

I'm looking at this part:

And interpreting it as it's illegal if you do the above. Taking it to the letter, I don't see it being illegal to make, say, an image of the disk. The important take away here is that while format shifting is legal in the United States and Canada but as others have pointed out, it is still illegal to bypass encryption schemes.  However, since not all DVDs or Blu-Rays feature encryption (It's optional, really), any discussion the ripping of a DVD or Blu-Ray for personal usage format shifting is not a discussion of copyright violation so long as it's not a discussion on how to bypass any DRM or encryption.
