$200 dollar pc build list. Any recomendations?

Go to solution Solved by Conductor,

Intel pentium's are great. If you are willing to go a couple dollars over get a better power supply. Here is my PartList I put together for you: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fkTJ9W

Hi Everybody,

I am looking into building a new office computer for my parents considering their 8yr old HP workstation took it's final breath a couple days ago. I was looking to build something that would be about 200$ and that has a huge upgrade path. And it only needs to handle light work loads like web browsing and Microsoft office. It took a day or two but I ended up with this: (by the way I am reusing a external drive bay for more storage)  https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wv8MNN

If you have any recommendations of what to change, add, or remove.  Thanks! :)

yup, a 3rd gen i7 will be relevant for a long time, especially doing light work.

I mean, the first gen i5-760 can still game quite well... and that came out 7 years ago.

You'll be golden with a 3rd or 4th gen i5 or i7.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

For a (crappy) CPU like that, with an iGPU... Almost all PSU's will do fine. And I would personaly look for used. Have done so with my current system, and it was cheap + good enough. And very stable... I can go months without a reboot/crash/whatever.

I think you should save $750.
