Would an i5-7400 bottleneck an RX 580 4gb?

Just a quick question:

Would an i5-7400 bottleneck an RX 580 4gb?

If so, would there be much of a difference with an RX 480 4gb?

FYI, I'm pretty new to PC hardware so excuse me if I ask dumb questions.

pretty sure it would struggle to bottleneck a 1080 ti mate. Dont worry :P provided you have the power for it GO FOR IT

unless you're playing battlefield 1, then no. if you are, it'll be a minor bottleneck.

battlefield 1 is a CPU hog, and the 7400 doesn't even meet the minimum spec.

however, the minimum spec is bullshit, and you can run it anyway.

no, it would really bottleneck a 1080Ti unless it's 4K gaming.

the 7600K overclocked bottlenecks a 1080 at 1080p sometimes. (rarely, but it happens.)

Pretty sure a 1080  ti is made for 4K gaming though, in near enough any situation you only rly buy a 1080 ti for 4k gaming at high framerates or 1440p 144hz or higher.

But i see youre point, im an idiot :P

4K gaming has less CPU overhead than 1080p or 1440p. You'd be fine with a G4560 and a 1080Ti or Titan Xp @ 4K

Main Gaming PC (new): HP Omen 30L || i9 10850K || RTX 3070 || 512GB WD Blue NVME || 2TB HDD, 4TB HDD, 8TB HDD ||  750W P2 ||  16GB HyperX Black DDR4

Main Gaming PC (old, still own) : Intel Core i7 7700K @5.0Ghz || GPU: GTX 1080 Seahawk EK X || Motherboard: Maximus VIII Impact || Case: Fractal Design Define Nano S || RAM : 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX

That's exactly what I was saying

4K gaming = no bottleneck

1080p gaming = bottleneck with a 1080 or 1080Ti
