Most of our patrons (Now referred to as "Members" lol) are pretty good. But we get the occasional nuisance and mean person, and plenty of lower income folks or homeless/unemployed people, but most of them don't bother anyone and are nice enough.

Members?  It's a library not an after school club.  lol

I hope I never run into a mean patron.   ?

Patron is considered an "antiquated" term now. Member implies more inclusion :P

As for your comment... many libraries are after school clubs, in the sense that they offer a wide range of activities and programs (many which are free) to people of all ages, including kids and teens.

But yes, you'll run into a mean patron. It's inevitable. You'll get that one person who obviously lost or damaged a book, but claims they returned it, or the person who thinks something is your fault just because you're there and easy to blame, or the drunk person who is trying to fight anyone he can see, etc.

Libraries are generally nice places, but now and then, you still gotta call the cops :P

How is it antiquated?    It's what they were called in my classes.  ?

If someone hurts a book I'll fite them.  ?

(Spelled wrong on purpose.)

Talking about an electric scooter?

I see a whole butt load of them were I am at the moment.  Never thought I could see so many.  Stinkers are almost near silent too.  Which makes it tricky on the side walks in certain areas, stinkers drive down the side walks at times.

If none of those places' employees are telling you not charge off the outlets, then I call it fair game.  Otherwise, they probably would had locked covers on the outlets if they did not want anyone to use the outlets.

It's only stealing if they have a policy in place or tell you to stop and you continue.  Schools generally don't care if you're charging your laptop and/or phone.  Now, if you're stealing gas or oil that's another thing.

At the high school I went to, they'd confiscate your phone and your charger if they caught you charging your phone from the wall or from the computers. A couple years ago they nabbed a kid with child porn on his phone because he plugged the phone into one of the computers in the Mac lab, so the high school started really cracking down on students charging their phones on-campus after that.

-10, since the outlets are there for use by customers.

Speaking as a business owner myself... Not always, no.

Unless you sign a waiver of liability, or the store has a walk-in liability waiver then those outlets are probably NOT for customer use.

If a store has neither of those waivers, and you say, electrocute your device and cause it to burst into flames or something, then you could turn around and hold the store itself liable for the damages because there was not something explicitly saying not to use the outlet, or that you take responsibility for using the outlet.

Typically convenience stores, clothing stores, and restaurants do NOT want you charging a device on their grounds because often their insurance won't cover any damages, and you probably haven't signed off on one of those waivers of liability.

Ya it would be cool to pull 15A from the outlet and be guarunteed not to trip the circuit breaker, but who knows what else is on that circuit. Depending on the era the building was built as the code changes everytime the code books are updated ~4yrs or whatever the number is.

My hunch is sign pylons have their own as tools are needed to repair it, but it might be on the outside outlet circuit as well.

I'd hate to be in a jam, pull 13A and the circuit breaker trips and there is no where near by to juice up.

Also I find gas stations are good to power up my battery bank as well. Usually near the air pump there's an outlet.

Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Subways are hard to find outlets whether it be inside the restaraunt or on the outside wall. But where there are those stores there are gas stations. I am just trying to think of all the places I have recharged my batteries at.

1) Gas Stations

2) Sign Pylons

3) Parking Lot with Block Heater outlets

4) City Transit Train Stations - Like actually on the platform. Used for the cleaners and workers to repair concrete, power wash etc.

5) Those community malls are a popular target for power outlets

6) Industrial warehouse

7) RV camping site

8) City Street Light with an open access panel, spliced my wires in with alligator clips

9) Back Alley garage outlets (Just a quick 5 minute recharge as I was close to home)

10) YMCA

11) Ice Rink Complex

12) City Pools

13) Garden Outlets (Downtown had them located in the bush for xmas lights probably)

14) Tree outlets (same thing as above)

Almost went to the side of a residential house, but that was too brazen.

Yes ask for permission on some of them :)
