Computer uses images to teach itself common sense

A computer program is trying to learn common sense by analysing images 24 hours a day.
The aim is to see if computers can learn, in the same way a human would, what links images, to help them better understand the visual world.

 

Seems like an interesting idea, but I don't really see it working very well. So far, it knows this:

 

• "Airbus_330" can be a kind of / look similar to "airplane".
• "Deer" can be a kind of / look similar to "antelope".
• "Car" can have a part, "wheel".
• "Leaning_tower" can be found in "Pisa".
• "Zebra" can be found in "Savanna".
• "Bamboo_forest" can be/can have "vertical_lines"

Still, it is my opinion that when computers are powerful enough to support AI, this is how it needs to be done (not necessarily just with images, but it will work best if it teaches itself rather than having everything programmed in).

Something that will probably be better in revision 2 or 3 (or 10 or 20).
