1050 Ti or 1060?

I do not have a monitor yet, I was planning to get a 1080p 24 inch monitor that is 144 hz.

Then I would suggest this: get an RX570/RX470 with a 1080P 144Hz Freesync display. You'll get a way better gaming experience out of it + you'll save some cash since Freesync displays are normally $100-200 cheaper than their G-Sync counterpart and does almost the same thing - and that is offering a screen tearing-free gaming experience.

So there is a mining problem thing going on, and 1060 prices are skyrocketing. Every GTX 1060 6GB card is out of stock or really expensive. I am building a PC and I do not want to pay that much for a graphics card. However, the 1050 Ti is only $149.99. Should I get the 1050 Ti or the GTX 1060 6GB? I am planning to play games like Counter Strike, Grand theft auto V, Battlegrounds, etc. This is my PC build so far:

CPU Ryzen 1600

Mobo: Asus Prime B350 Plus

HDD: Seagate 2tb

SSD: still debating on getting on

PSU: EVGA 650 GQ, 80+ Gold 650W

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 3000MHz

Case: NZXT S340 mid tower case

I do not want to exceed $1000. Please send feedback!

Depending on where you are, a used GTX 980 might be your cheapest (and best) option of the three.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

that sucks, can you try to negotiate? a gtx 970 should be around 150$, gtx 980 should be around 200$.

AM4 doesn't have onboard unless you're using an APU.

Lol, sorry Intel only has been the norm for so long I didn't even check the cpu. I need time to adjust to amd being a thing again.

Erm, AMD hasn't had on-board graphics in ages, except for APUs

My recommendation would be to wait a bit until your budget can fit a 1060 6G or an RX 480/580 (yes, I know stocks are low or nonexistent and prices are ridiculous, but it would be a shame to spend money on a decent build only to have it gimped by an underperforming GPU)

No I meant I need time to adjust to people having builds with amd CPUs in them. I know every cpu amd ever made and was building with cyrix CPUs before amd was a thing.

Ah, a fair point.

I still need to adjust to people building DDR4 systems (I've screwed up 3 orders so far, getting DDR3 instead of DDR4. Good thing I'm a silver partner with the retailer I order from and returns are painless and very fast. Correct part usually gets here in a couple of days and there's no extra charge for shipping)

I only have 1 system with ddr4 so I can understand that. I'm to busy building servers with the outgoing AMD FX CPUs on fire sale. Maybe when ryzen is on gen 2 I'll dabble with it.
