ya. also a lot of people are using lower end amd cards, like the rx 560 and 460. many of my friends have gotten rx 460's and they are still pretty cheap comparatively.

Yeah, most people irl are not buying 1080Tis in SLI, they are buying RX 560s, 570s, and even some of them are buying 580s xD

Well AMD is supplying the GPU, so no matter what they are making bank.

ya. i just got a gtx 760 2gb for insanely cheap because i deal with the used market but a lot of people dont like to do that and they turn to the $100 price point graphics cards. You can either go for a gt 1030 or an rx 460. And the rx 460 is a lot better.

they make the same bank whether a gamer buys it for $200 or a miner buys it for $450

all the difference is that now they get a bad rep for it being expensive AF and people rolling towards 1060 for gaming

The only way this happens is if AMD grows in popularity or Mining becomes more popular (hint, it won't, not without attracting some serious traffic from the IRS for essentially printing money....look I dont pretend to understand Crypto Currency but the way I see it it should be illegal)

Cryptocurrencies go up in a big boom then there is a big crash which we are just about to witness as everyone starts pulling out.

This is basically AMD's Founders Edition-type card. I'll give them a pass here, but if their consumer gaming GPUs aren't up to snuff then it'll be really disappointing.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Lol, but Titan Xp never gets credited for its high score in gaming. Silly how that works.

Also, I guess we'll wait for RX Vega now? You think it will have 20-40% more performance to match to the 1080ti in gaming? Doubt it

Whatever makes you feel better though.

The problem is that the govt cant regulate it much, its specially designed to be decentralised to take control away from them and banks.

Should I still continue to wait for vega, or am I doing it wrong?  I heard I can get a 1080 for around $499 as well xD

Tbh i think its still a good idea IF you have a freesync monitor and use AMD components. I belive Vega will probably be the same as a 1080, nowhere near a 1080 ti but still worth it

Noone here thinks that vega will be better than a TI in gaming, if you do then you should see a doctor.

BUT

As we all know, AMD will always be better on price for performance, so on that stance, it will probably be better than the whole lineup (Theoretically). Although AMD claim Vega is for the higher end of gamers we all know none of them will buy it. which leaves it in the mid range area for what i would like to say the golden area, most low budgets can afford them which is where AMD Strives.

Vega FE is a workstation card. "Gaming" Vega is coming later.

Compare it to the Titan and Quadro cards.

Look at the benchmark and you see the Titan Xp at the very <cough> top. But wait, that's a workstation card and an nvidia one, so that doesn't count, right?

But, if an AMD card is a workstation card and does terrible in gaming (or, should I say doesn't match the price:performance ratio), blame it on it being a workstation card.

But, if an nvidia card is a workstation card (roughly same price), and performs good in gaming, it's not marketed as a workstation card, it's a gaming card!

LOL! The mental gymnastics here are awesome

The Titan ISNT a real workstation card, in many actual workstation workloads, it it much slower compared to proper cards. This is what Quadros are for, you can game on them too, but they are not made to do so.

Yes drivers need optimizing for Vega when it comes out with its RX Vega version but the problem is wont AMD be back to where they have been once Volta comes out??? Cause lets face it if they plan to release Vega so it ' competes ' with a 1080 which is as of now 13 month old. This doesnt sound good cause say Volta is out next year and gives say a 10-15% increase ( and these are modest improvements who knows it could be more ) yet again AMD are behind the 8 ball yet again. I hope AMD do well cause this industry needs competition. However if people were expecting Vega to blow nvidia out the water I think you could be setting yourself up for a fail.

AMD hasn't be competitive architecture wise since the R2 290X back in 2013. You would think if AMD had a good architecture then they would release it by now. Because of how far ahead Nvidia is, even if AMD releases a card that is as good as the 1080 Ti, Nvidia will just release a more powerful version.
