Wanted to go but I work overnight and start my shift at 11PM :/    Otherwise I would have gone to Montreal to see them (my local city is a lot smaller, so less budget hahaha) 

 

And bringing fireworks in a datacenter is a bad idea :P

Being apart of the well over 6 foot crowd, has its benefit. I've done many things sober that I aint proud of, because I think stupid people need to be taught a lesson. So I gotta pick my battles. Ignoring seems to work like a gem.

 

I had a sense of booziness at about 5 or 6pm with a trio of older ladies on the transit train. So I went past downtown, and had to chill out so I grabbed a water and was trying to figure out what to do. Jumped back on the train, took up 3 spots and blocked half the aisle, and went through downtown and to my end of the city. I wanted to put myself in a stressful situation to build up my pain tolerance of stupid people. But I am going to leave town when the finale comes by this Friday. Friday at noon Im leaving for 10 days. I dont care where I go, will just head to the airport and get the first plane west and stay within Canada.

 

So the conclusion is, Canada Day 150 is just a trial run. Pretty minor over all, but the irritation level was quite high. Trials and Tribulations overall making it a mountain out of a mole hill.

 

Gotta look at myself and why.

 

Fireworks would have been nice to watch though, but like I said, they are all the same. I liked them when I was younger, like early 20's but I am well beyond that now. I kinda wish I was 20 again. Laughing about it now, the fireworks were just another reason to get hammered.

canada day story (yay!)

 

 

this wall of text has been brought to you by trump.


 

Spoiler

start out at 6:30, walk out to bus stop, goto subway, subway to downtown

it's 8:30

dad tries to follow google maps, fails, walks 15 minutes the wrong way

it's 9, and we're the area where it's supposed to start fireworks .. at 10:30

walked around, took some photos, my mom bitches about being hungry

she wants us to goto mcdonalds, so we do ..

she's leading the way because 'she knows this place inside and out', and its supposed to be a 5 minute walk

10 minutes later, she borrows my phone to check where mcdonalds is

we walked the wrong way. nearest mcdonalds is.. 10 minutes away

we're at mcdonalds, it's 9:20pm now.

there's a LARGE line, it goes OUTSIDE of mcdonalds, and there's only 6 people working there from what I have counted

start up the reddit, /r/talesfromtechsupport

its 9:30 and we're halfway there, my mom bitches about the line being long and we should walk to SUBWAY, which is far away

we're all like bitch fuck off, no. so we keep waiting

it's about 9:50 and we finally order $50.35 of diabetes and 10 minutes later, we start to eat

well, walk and eat. it's darkish outside.

10:20, we're back where we started. but, we want to goto a better place

a place where we can see the cn tower, and the boat that launches fireworks

at 10:30 we reach that place, and at about 10:35 the fireworks start at the cn tower

10:40, it ended.

we waited 10 minutes, then we all decided that we should go back if they dont start by 10:50. 

the fireworks at the boat were supposed to start at 10:30..

10 minutes of crowd confusion later, lots of people start walking out, and as we're about to start walking

IT STARTS!

loud music starts blaring from the speakers that i didnt notice ..

it was pretty loud, but the song choice was terrible, and so were the equipment

imagine speakers doing 100w when they're supposed to do 50w, and couple that with a thin wire, and the amp peaking out .. yeah, not fun. also it sounded like there was only bass.. :( 

it ends at about 11:05, and holy shit there were a lot of fireworks. everyone was recording it on their phones, but i guess i am the only one who knows that phones cant RECORD SHIT in LOW LIGHT and that you should just take a few photos, and enjoy yourself.. 

after that, large crowd that goes to the buses. we're one of the last people because we were at the pier and there was a bunch of people from the pier going all the way to the street.

my mom wanted us to take the bus, because she thought it would fly by as there totally isnt a high demand for buses, and there wasn't 5 buses right outside waiting and it all got full ..

i guess i was the only one who knew high demand + shitty traffic = its going to take forever to even go 2km, and that THERE WAS A METRO STATION ONLY 1KM AWAY!

we got on the 5th bus, and there was delays everywhere

from idiot drivers, to people just standing in the middle of the door

one person decided to try to get on the bus, but there was no more space, so they just stood in the middle of the door, and the bus cant go without the doors closing, and for that to happen there must be no obstruction

after that my mom started to talk to the family near us, because why not. the kid that was next to me (apart of that family) was sick and was coughing his ass off, near me .. 

so eventually we pushed that bitch off and we went off because she wouldn't move until someone else moved and gave their spot up for her

10 minutes later, we get stuck for 5 minutes. there was a medical emergency with the bus in front of us, so we all had to move out. the bus driver opened only the front door, and well the bus was empty after 5 minutes of unloading..

the person on the other bus, there was so much blood, he got head smashed i assume on the bus ..

like, holy shit, so much blood ..

anyways, we walk for about 10 minutes to the metro station, and then we all yell at her that we shouldn't have took the bus.

after that, we went on the metro which was surprisingly empty, then after that we had to transfer to the yellow line 

transferring there, the bus was filled. like, FILLED. eventually my mom started to make small talk with another person, who had work the other day as a chef :P

then after it was a pleasant ride to a station, which we transferred onto the TTC and back home

start out at 6:30, walk out to bus stop, goto subway, subway to downtown

it's 8:30

dad tries to follow google maps, fails, walks 15 minutes the wrong way

it's 9, and we're the area where it's supposed to start fireworks .. at 10:30

walked around, took some photos, my mom bitches about being hungry

she wants us to goto mcdonalds, so we do ..

she's leading the way because 'she knows this place inside and out', and its supposed to be a 5 minute walk

10 minutes later, she borrows my phone to check where mcdonalds is

we walked the wrong way. nearest mcdonalds is.. 10 minutes away

we're at mcdonalds, it's 9:20pm now.

there's a LARGE line, it goes OUTSIDE of mcdonalds, and there's only 6 people working there from what I have counted

start up the reddit, /r/talesfromtechsupport

its 9:30 and we're halfway there, my mom bitches about the line being long and we should walk to SUBWAY, which is far away

we're all like bitch fuck off, no. so we keep waiting

it's about 9:50 and we finally order $50.35 of diabetes and 10 minutes later, we start to eat

well, walk and eat. it's darkish outside.

10:20, we're back where we started. but, we want to goto a better place

a place where we can see the cn tower, and the boat that launches fireworks

at 10:30 we reach that place, and at about 10:35 the fireworks start at the cn tower

10:40, it ended.

we waited 10 minutes, then we all decided that we should go back if they dont start by 10:50. 

the fireworks at the boat were supposed to start at 10:30..

10 minutes of crowd confusion later, lots of people start walking out, and as we're about to start walking

IT STARTS!

loud music starts blaring from the speakers that i didnt notice ..

it was pretty loud, but the song choice was terrible, and so were the equipment

imagine speakers doing 100w when they're supposed to do 50w, and couple that with a thin wire, and the amp peaking out .. yeah, not fun. also it sounded like there was only bass.. :( 

it ends at about 11:05, and holy shit there were a lot of fireworks. everyone was recording it on their phones, but i guess i am the only one who knows that phones cant RECORD SHIT in LOW LIGHT and that you should just take a few photos, and enjoy yourself.. 

after that, large crowd that goes to the buses. we're one of the last people because we were at the pier and there was a bunch of people from the pier going all the way to the street.

my mom wanted us to take the bus, because she thought it would fly by as there totally isnt a high demand for buses, and there wasn't 5 buses right outside waiting and it all got full ..

i guess i was the only one who knew high demand + shitty traffic = its going to take forever to even go 2km, and that THERE WAS A METRO STATION ONLY 1KM AWAY!

we got on the 5th bus, and there was delays everywhere

from idiot drivers, to people just standing in the middle of the door

one person decided to try to get on the bus, but there was no more space, so they just stood in the middle of the door, and the bus cant go without the doors closing, and for that to happen there must be no obstruction

after that my mom started to talk to the family near us, because why not. the kid that was next to me (apart of that family) was sick and was coughing his ass off, near me .. 

so eventually we pushed that bitch off and we went off because she wouldn't move until someone else moved and gave their spot up for her

10 minutes later, we get stuck for 5 minutes. there was a medical emergency with the bus in front of us, so we all had to move out. the bus driver opened only the front door, and well the bus was empty after 5 minutes of unloading..

the person on the other bus, there was so much blood, he got head smashed i assume on the bus ..

like, holy shit, so much blood ..

anyways, we walk for about 10 minutes to the metro station, and then we all yell at her that we shouldn't have took the bus.

after that, we went on the metro which was surprisingly empty, then after that we had to transfer to the yellow line 

transferring there, the bus was filled. like, FILLED. eventually my mom started to make small talk with another person, who had work the other day as a chef :P

then after it was a pleasant ride to a station, which we transferred onto the TTC and back home
