Upgrade GPU or CPU (+ motherboard & ram) first?

Hey!

So i've decided to upgrade my system. I built it in the summer of 2014, so it's performance in the latest games is still acceptable although not the greatest. I've therfore concluded that an upgrade is due, and what i want to know is if i should start by upgrading my GPU or my CPU first?

Basically, if i where to upgrade my GPU i would go for a GTX 1070 and if i where to upgrade the CPU i would go for an i5-7600k. Since my current Motherboard (look at the specs down below) doesn't support the new CPU i would also have to buy a new motherboard and new DDR4 memory to go along with it. So my question here is, what should i upgrade first? I'm personally leaning toward the GPU, but a question that comes to mind is if the GTX 1070 would get bottlenecked by my current system?

Here are my current specs:

MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming socket 1150

PSU: Corsair CX600M

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 780

HDD: WD Desktop Green 1TB

SSD: Crucial M500 120GB + Crucial MX300 525 GB

RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 8GB

COOLER: Corsair H60 Hydro Series

Grateful for some advice, Thanks!

*Also note that my current CPU is not overclocked but that i plan to do so if i upgrade the GPU.

Getting i7 4770k or 4790k would be a lot better upgrade than going for i5 7600k.

Definitely don't get any i5 now, either pick Ryzen 5 or go for i7.

Yes, upgrade GPU first.

Used 4790k would be much better, just upgrade GPU.

I5's have no real place at the moment. Games are using more than 4 threads now (newest) and a ryzen 5 with 12 threads is cheaper than a 7600k

i seapped from 4790k to my ryzen 1700 and have only just seen better fps in games due to recent optimisation and bios updates. It's still a good chip, but remember the newer platforms offer more than just a cpu

You can't get a new 1070 at a good price now, so maybe wait for another month for Vega's release to shake the prices down.

it similar to what i ask in my post,

mine is Gen1 (i5-750 stock speed @2,66ghz 8mb cache),i "believe" urs is gen 4,so my case is even worser,

and this guy point out a youtube video that gives me "mindblowing" of what my proc "possibly" capable.

so im thinking of buying a cooler, then OC my Proc, then if it did can reach some point ill buy VGA,if it doesn't then ill just buy whole new rig.

try to read it.

maybe... just maybe.. ur proc is "chucknorris like" like mine.as a reference only.. coz i didnt YET do that, coz i just post it today too.
