Smaller (40-50mm) Fractal Design Fan Failure!

iamdarkyoshi

Anyone used Fractal Design's smaller fans? I decided that because they were in the upper range of cost on newegg (like 9$ per fan!) And they were from Fractal, I'd buy them hoping for a long lifespan.

But... One just failed and its had about 24 hours of runtime! Its making lots of noise and hardly spinning.

What gives?

I've had over 4 of their 40mm fans, they don't last very long.

They started making noise a few weeks or months after buying, but I kept buying it because it was part of my PC's aesthetics.

If you don't care about looks go with the noctua 40mm fan, it is extremely silent and much more reliable.

well... I guess that you're gonna have to take the L on this one then.

but it's not specifically fractal's fault. everyone has defective products sometimes.
