Lightning 7970 or HOF 770

I am building my second gaming rig. Now and I am struggling to choose a GPU. My favorite options are the MSI lightning Radeon HD 7970 or the Galaxy HOF GTX 770. I want a silent gaming experience with the highest frame rates in modern (and next gen) titles. I don't, mind high temps. I have a Z87 MPOWER MAX motherboard and a Bitfenix Survivor White. I have a 750W psu so power is no issue. I am planning to play: The Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 4, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Assassin's creed 3/4, and the most GPU intensive game ever, Minesweeper! Note: Survivor case has no windowed side panel so I do not care fort looks.

 

Update: I've decided 770 HOF for it is $100 cheaper!

They trade blows from game to game. If you want features go for 770, if you want price go for 7970

Since they are so even I'd personally go 770 for shadowplay and g-sync.. But if you dont care about either then flip a coin idk.

HOF 770 looks awesome if you have a white theme build, especially the white pcb. Personally i would go for 770

I do tend to like nVidia for features, ESPECIALLY soon to be g-sync and shadowplay. I rock a gtx 470, got my brother a 7950 when it was the top choice. So, I tend to go whichever is better at the time, right now I think that is green team. G-sync is going to be the best thing to happen to gaming since the invention of the mouse

pretty 51/49 770 get 51 for the features and running slightly cooler and 7970 get 49 because i doesn't ave those BUT its cheaper last i saw.

GTX 770 for dat sexy PCB and all features that nvidia gives (g-sync, shadowplay), but if that's not important then go for the 7970 as it has a slight increase in performance in some tests/games. Me personally, I would go for the 770 hands down, but that's preference.

Msi lightning is a quieter cooler. They're neck to neck for gaming.

 

But really, just get a msi gaming cooler 280x. Much cheaper. It's not worth the extra money for the premium versions of the same gpu.

İf you want the NVidia only features like G-SYNC,PshyX,FLEX,ShadowPlay...etc than the 770

 

if you want to play alot of BF4 and save a bit of money than go for the 7970

It depends on if you want to utilize mantle or prefer the features of nVidia. 

 

Personally i would go with the MSI 7970 because it will be cheaper and will have 3Gb of memory as opposed to 2Gb on the HOF 770.
