Xbox One X Killer!!! 4k PC for under $500

*Please Read First*

To start off I would like to say that these parts mainly refurbished or used. Im trying to see if I can improve my idea in any way to make a future video.

I made this thread to ease the console peasants from bashing the pcmasterrace. We are still superior in every way and this one reason why.

I would also like to note that linus and luke acomplished this in scrapyard wars season 5.

Lastly I know you can't game on this system at ultra 4k but at least high settings since im sure the xbox one x probably runs at medium 4k.

I have the link for the parts at the end of the thread.

The total of this build is $495

Lets start off by showing what I have to offer for parts.

s-l1600.jpg.07257e8588f2b7867f4e15c2a8b014e8.jpg

Dell Optiplex 9010 MT - $170

CPU: Intel Core I5-3470 3.2ghz

Mem: 8gb ddr3

HDD: 500gb

OS: Windows 10

Just needs a better power supply to power the graphics card

Easy enough I found a brand new and cheap power supply from Corsair for $15 after mail in rebate

The graphics card I chose to run was a gtx 980ti

Found the listing and many others for $310

All Links For Components Found Here

Case $170

Graphics Card $310

Power Supply $15

Total $495

I would like to mention that the 980ti cannot max out every game at 4k. It can still deliver high frame rates at medium-high settings on AAA Titles.

In conclusion if I were to buy these parts and assemble the new power supply and graphics card into the prebuild case with windows 10 installed. I could get ample performance to the xbox one x.

If you don't like use or refurbished parts then consider buying this partlist from pcpartpicker

As I mentioned these are mainly used and refurbished parts. I know it's not perfect but it's still possible for under $500.

The thing is, in a couple month you may find some used Xbox One X going for 200 or so USD on Ebay. Which makes your build sounds much less impressive.

But all of those are used parts without a warranty and you don't know if they are working or not, but the Xbox is brand new and comes with a warranty. And the XBox comes with a controller too

Don't get me wrong, a custom PC is superior to the Xbox in every way, but if you want to be fair, you should make parts list with new parts

I don't think it's going to be around $200 maybe $400 at most just because it's new. I would give it a couple years after the release for it to reach $200

Peasants have no clue and undervalue hardware. You can easily talk them down to that price. If not, 300USD is still pretty good.

Nobody seems to take into consideration the fact that they mentioned 6tflop of processing power,  not gpu power. It's very likely they're counting the cpu into that as well - meaning it's much more likely to perform like a 1060 or lower.

We'll see 4k like we saw 1080p when the xbone launched - not always and often at 30 fps.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Good point. My gtx970 runs 4k at medium settings on almost every game and it compares to a 1060.

wrong, the xbox one x has 6tflops of GPU power, confirmed. the Xbox also has 4k blue ray HDR support, overall a better value than a same priced pc.

Uhh, the Dell Multiplex 9010 MT has a 275w PSU which won't power a 980Ti and also, judging by this photo of the case interior, I'm not sure the 980Ti will FIT in that case...

While the PSU is ATX and you could upgrade it, it'll add to your cost and it doesn't negate the potential of weather or not the GPU will fit.

who cares, 4k 30 fps is more than enough for most people, console optimization can get you a lot farther, remember Xbox 360/ ps3 running gta 5, a similar specs pc would get nowhere near that level of performance.

Never were a fan of consoles. But if you brand it as "XBox One X KILLER", it has to beat it out quite significantly.

cpu bottleneck for AAA heavy physics driven games, console 30 fps is not that bad due to excellent frame pacing.
