"Luke and HER  wife" mate....

I dont think it would be scrapyard wars if the budget is on the higher end of the PC community spectrum.

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

ok lets break this idea down into why its shit:

1: why? that makes no sense, they are hard to find used usiually

2: sure i can see this one but that would be pretty booring to watch. like honestly, WHY? why would you just remove the fun?

3: understandable

4: this one also makes no real sense, why would you do this? this just leaves you with less money for your parts

5: now THIS, THIS is the worst part of the entire thing. scrapyardwars is about haveing a tight budget and fighting for the most preformance where you can end up with everything from a 7970 to a 1080. thats the FUN. the FUN is that the budget is tight. with that budget they might as well just watercool the entire thing, run dual 1080s and a 7700K. this part makes the LEAST sense of the entire thing. cut of atleats half of that, preferably more. IMO $500 is even too high. $400 is about the fun spot where basically you can end up with ANYTHING, the computer might even explode because you have a shitty PSU and so on. haveing a $1500 budget defeats the entire concept of the series.

*edit*

i have no problem with the idea of them doing a couples scrapyardwars, your plan for the thing was just shit. but i doubt that Lukes GF of whatever(for all we know it might be a body pillow or his hand or something) will show up on camera

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

First of all.  Luke and "her" wife ?  (( " H E R " ))

Second. Really? Corsair? 1080 as a MUST?! and 1000-1500 $ budget? As @Bananasplit_00 said, with 1500 you could watercool the shit out of the PC, take a 7700k and two 1080s (all used ofc) and that's the thing. No fun at all. (maybe just the fan of putting everything together in a case but nothing much)

That's  a NO from me.

Also, it would be "his" wife, because Luke is not female.

even a $1000 budget destroys the concept. there is a pretty clear path on what to get at that budget, there would be no barganing, no deal hunting and basically no fun. i like the other things though.

thats why i think $400 should be fun, you CAN get a 980TI in there, but the rest of your system would have to be garbage, or you go for a more balanced rout with a 780TI or GTX 970 and so on. $300-$500 is where i would say scrapyard wars should be budget wise and seeing Linus wife and Lukes GF(or hand or whatever) build a computer that cost $400 would be hilarus. the guys shouldent get to do anything beyond give advice and find deals. they cant bargain even xD i would have a good time watching that atleast

I suspect that if spouses or partners wanted to be on screen, they would be. LMG isn't going to rope in Luke's girlfriend (who doesn't work there) or Yvonne (who has better shit to do) to make a video series, that's just wildly inappropriate.
