It's not enough in the case of the iPhone 6. 

 

1GB is not enough to keep apps loaded and keep everything smooth.

Alright so new question: iPhone 6s or Samsung S7? I'm mostly interested in camera quality

As someone that has experienced both the S7 and the iPhone 6, the camera quality is far superior on the S7 plus it has a tonne of features you can play around with before you've even taken the photo such as 'Pro mode'. 

 

However, I'm not too keen on the custom OS and apps that Samsung put onto the S7 Edge. Android 6 Marshmallow and Android 7 Nougat are great OS's but personally I like a stock android OS and you simply don't get that from Samsung.

 

The iPhone 6 is still great for its simplicity and reliability (which you sometimes don't get from android) but the S7 definitely pulls ahead with better specs as well - I mean seriously, who can't love an Octa-core CPU and 4GB of RAM in a phone!?

6s Plus > S7 because optical image stabilization 

 

the standard 6s and the Plus have better slomo features. The iPhone also has better video. 

 

Overall quality will be close but I prefer the 6s, but decide for yourself

This is an Android straight that doesn't actually mean anything. 

 

Android phones suffer from poor optimization and they slow down much faster than iPhones.

Still wouldn't do it quite frankly. The 6S has an A9 chip and 2GB of RAM, plus the screen is smaller but it still has a 12MP camera. I would still go for the S7 as it both has better specs (still) and a larger screen makes for a better experience when taking photos.

Also true about the slowness after a while, however since Samsung have developed the phone for their own custom OS it's not really poorly optimised is it?...

You would think, but thats not how it works. 

 

On Android TouchWiz is regarded as the worst Android skin because of its poor performance.

Being a Nexus user I HATE the look of the Samsung UI, but you can change that by adding a custom launcher and icon pack...

Hmm fair enough  But I've not seen any performance issues at all on the S7 edge. Maybe its because I still use a iPhone 4S so it looks superior haha

Yes true but you often have to root it and flash it before you even get to that stage, which, I probably wouldn't say is worth it since you most likely will void your warranty

I disagree, I haven't seen anything that wasn't smooth on any of my friends phones. 

 

As well, smoothness isn't completely dictated by ram. As evidenced by the OP2 I'm typing this from, which has 4gb ram, being quite laggy a lot of the time and the typing I'm doing right now is a bit laggy. I've also seen YouTube evicted when I only have 3 apps open (and before you ask, I only have around 5 chrome tabs open at any time).
