RX 570 8GB ? Really ?

yeah why not...it's 10% slower than a 580...if you like to render ultra quality textures in your games then knock yourself...i don't get your point.

8GB VRAM to cope with better textures, yet still more affordable than a 580? Also, it's probs handy for anyone on a budget using any software that's VRAM hungry.

its a version of the card with the full 8gb of vram just like the 580. if you play games with really high quality textures you can go over 4gb easy especially if you are modding skyrim with high quality textures.

a 570 is  a 580 that failed stability tests and got some of it's computing cores (stream processors, as what AMD calls) disabled, just like the 470 is to the 480. They are essentially the same chip. Of course it supports 8GB VRAM, just pointless in games.

not worth it for that chip, evn the 8gb are worth it on the 580 even with 4k and 580 CF you probably cant even play games on settings that use more than 5 GB of Vram

There are some games that uses a shitton of VRAM like Skyrim with mods.

Crossfire doesn't multiple VRAM btw

GTA V uses over 5GB (sometimes even 6) in some situations on maxed details

EDIT: To add on your comment, who said it's worth?

sometimes vendors add more VRAM than reference specification .

We got cards like the 6GB hd7970 , 6gb gtx 780 , 2gb hd 5850 and 8GB 290X as recent examples .

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

You mean AMD should save cost and make 5GB 580/570? Sure that will work.

570 is only marginally slower than a 580 and similar to a 480 . doesn't seem too out of place here tbh .

you'd have a point if this was polaris 11 , but not really applicable here .

And even so , future workloads are uncertain . for example , 4Gb on the 290x was considered a LOT back when it launched .

the card still has plenty of performance nowadays , hanging in with the 480 , but the 4Gb hold it back.

just because it uses that doesnt mean its gonna make a noticeable difference. BF4 on 1080p high settings also uses 2,5GB or more Vram and I could play it just fine without any stuttering on 50-60fps on a gtx 560 1GB

you wont be running more than 1440p anyways with that card

How can it use 2,5 GB if the GPU has 1GB?

the game uses 2,5Gb on that setting if it can, but obviously on a 1gb gpu it cant use more than 1gb of Vram and even with 1gb it still runs good, so Vram is more irrelevant than you might think

Is this for real ? an 8GB RX 570 ? I thought there's only a 4GB version but nooo theres the 8GB version

Can anyone explain something ? or give some arguments ?

While the 4GB 470 / 480 / 570 / 580 are fine even with higher texture packs there are certain games that run better with the larger buffer. Less swapping too and from system ram or SSD means that you get less wasted processing time spent swapping textures and more time actually "doing grafix"

Also there will be some non gaming solutions where the larger Vram buffer will be helpful and having that on a lower priced card will make sense there too.
