1050ti 1080p

Hey guys I'm putting together a build for my gf with a i5 6500 8 go if ram 

(I don't want advice on cpu)

 

is a 1050ti good for 1080p gaming 

does it do ultra or is it gona be high settings instead 

 

lookin for 60 fps 

 

I have found a zotac mini one for 108 pounds new is this a good bargain 

I was lookin at a secondhand 970 and they were all 160 ish upwards 

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

A 1050Ti will not do 1080P ultra, it's designed for a mix of medium and high settings at 1080P.

If you want high/Ultra@1080p 60fps you'd be looking at a 570 and above.

 

1050 ti could probably push medium/high depending on the game.

GTX 970 Strix is the best one IMO

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

I just looked on Gumtree and I definitely recommend searching the GTX 780 since it seems to be around £110 for reference and around £130 for custom. I'm sure that will do justice at 1080p ultra for most games, including Overwatch!

Some examples:

Overwatch is less demanding so you could probably push 1080p 60 fps at epic settings with a 1050 ti

Yeah, it's on a different league compared to the 1050ti! In Synthetic Benchmarks It's about 5% behind a good GTX 970 but in gaming I've noticed that the GTX 780 wins often by a few FPS when crammed to ULTRA (I test GPUs for UK Gaming companies for recommended and minimum specs)

Nah, because of the tax rate here, GTX 970 start from £150 ish to £160, it's not worth the minimal difference over the GTX 780

It's an Agency where different companies come to us for benchmarks on their games. Currently we're working with a VR Game company on finding the best minimum GPU for their Title. It is a great job that pays really well since I'm in London, but it can be very boring when you repeat the same thing over and over again

Aha not at the moment, it is a very small company with less than 10 employees based in the heart of London on Tottenham Court Road. If you were ever to move to London I'm sure I could ask the boss if there are any Vacancies
