6700K with stock cooler

hazzerjt

I already have a 6100, and am thinking about buying a 6700k. Would the cooler that came with the 6100 be OK for the 6700K temporarily?

Barely, but you will be fine if you are willing to undervolt the 6700k.

This is a budget one, but if you have a higher budget go with the kraken x52 or kraken x62

Yeah, because Linus uses stock cooler when using i7

The stock cooler that Linus uses has a copper slug core which performs better than the one without that comes with the i3. I think the heatsink that comes with the i3 is also smaller. It should be enough with undervolting and possibly underclocking.
