Tripod under $50

Hello, all I am looking for a decent tripod that is under $50. It has to be decently built and and have a decent height, maybe 50" and upward. Thanks!

try craigslist or kiji or ebay. Thats how I got my monster for $20 from the 1980's and its solid steel and 7 feet tall when fully extended. supports even my ole xl1

he said under $50 that doesn't mean more near 50. the vivitar tripod was $10 and worked, I suggested something more leaning twords the seriously low

if you can find it on sale the tragus black label is pretty good not the best but it works its usually around 55 to 60 but i have seen it for 40 before

What are planning on putting on this thing? Most tripods are rated for only a certain weight.

yeah this is important, fluid vs ball head. triopo makes good budget ones, hama as well, even some Cullmann can be found for decent prices- I don't know do they sell those in the states though. Or you could order the korean monster beike (ebay has some nice models).

I would avoid cheap tripods from well known brands ( these are usually overpriced) like manfrotto or vanguard ( gitzo or benro doesn't even make those cheap ones). I am also in the market for tripod, and it's driving me crazy. In my country prices are insane so if anyone knows an european based store with good prices that delivers inside the EU let me know.
