I got it bad, tried some cream, even stretching it out, not to sure what else to do. I may ice it later.

Started off as the occasional tingly at night, moved into occasional CT so I used a bottle that I squeezed, now its all day every day. I use a foam pad for the keyboard, and mouse. I got the tray that slides out for keyboard, but the mouse is ontop of the desk. I think the wrist needs to be inline so I am trying no foam pad. Also will try putting the mouse next to the keyboard and see. But its def from the mouse action.

Anyone else got CT?

Where do I grab one of those?

Shoppers Drug Mart or COOP Medical

Yeah I am thinking its the base of the palm, plus a bit of pressure to keep everything in line. Im fucking buying one of those tomorrow, I am tired of manning up and bearing with the pain, and shaking out my hand and stretching the fingers.

Something no one mentioned. Have you tried swapping the mouse for a trackball. I actually find them better for productivity, but barely useable for gaming. The advantage is that you never have to move the wrist.

Yes.  One thing I find that helps immensely, is using a trackball instead of a mouse.  I absolutely love using a trackball.

Heh, I was just posting that when you ninja'd me.

However, I actually prefer a trackball for gaming.

Depends on what you're playing. I prefer the mouse as most trackballs I've used tend to low friction and will roll a bit when I release the ball to reposition. The fact the mouse never leaves my hand means it only moves as far as my hand. Comes down to preference I guess.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Anyone of those?

On the side or on top?

Personally, I use ones that are thumb operated, rather than palm (like the M570, but I prefer wired).

I prefer the thumb operated ones. Logitech tends to be my go to.

Wired or wireless doesn't make much of a difference unless you're in an area with a shit load of other wireless devices or you need that sucker nailed down (I used to work on a boat, and wired was always better then. It couldn't run away as fart)

Well you have two options.

You can either go watch a Tech Quickie episode that Taran did in which he basically came to the realization that he got healed with the power of mind. :) I'm not joking.

Or you can do some forearm exercises that will strengthen your forearm muscles thus making the pain go away. Since the pain comes from the forearms muscles being to weak.

Yeah my sister just got CT like 3 days ago, from writing a lot (like with a pen, not even typing). It's way more common in older people though.

She has a brace thing, you can pick one up from most pharmacies or whatever, my sister has to wear it basically 24/7 outside of the shower.. The other thing to do would be to work on your forearm strength, @TaranLMG has a ball with a spinny thing in it which apparently helped, otherwise one of those spring-loaded hand squeezer things. It'll be uncomfortable for a while but it really will help.

I have Carpal Tunnel most likely through a mix of genetics and RSI. Both my mother and sister have Carpal Tunnel, with my mother having surgery to correct it a few years ago. I don't get it too bad though. I do get severe Cubital Tunnel though, which is caused in the elbow, causing my ring and pinky finger to go numb. I'm glad I don't get Carpal Tunnel too bad or I'd have completely numb hands if they both kicked in at once.

I intend to go to the doctor at some point for my Cubital Tunnel. I primarily get it when sitting at my desk with my elbows bent, but I've found I'm getting it more in other situations too, especially driving.

I got it just recently, started a few weeks ago. Since it's just mild pain, no numbing or anything, I didn't bother with a brace or anything, my chiropractor just gave me some strange pressure points to massage in my shoulders/ arms a few times a day. One around back just under each shoulderbalde, one right below each collarbone, one on the outside of your upper arm just in front of the tricep and finally one on the top of your forearm. I've been massaging each for a few seconds a few times a day (and layed of gaming for a week or so) and it's basically gone.
