School laptop for friend

My friend is looking for a laptop. She needs it for school, to be thin, have a nice keyboard and trackpad, screen, light, good build quality, future proof, USB C, fast (she's not gaming I tell her about high end pc systems and she thinks she needs gaming grade performance for word processing. I'm thinking like a core i3, igpu, and a ssd would be fine), lots of storage (maybe a 128gb ssd and an external hdd or a ssd and hdd in the laptop). She dosent care if it's windows or Mac. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe the lg gram, xps 13 or 15, 2016 MacBook (although shitty keyboard), surface products (no USB c and they can be expensive).

I'd say XPS 13, 2016 MacBook, or HP Spectre x360(IDK if it has USB C though).

I don't think it gets any hotter than a comparable Windows laptop. Do they even make PCs with no fans?

The new keyboard seems to be a polarizing topic but I can say that I really like it. Not having massive key travel isn't a deal breaker and Im very much used to my G610 with MX Brown switches.

 

I guess I can just adapt quickly to whatever I'm using.

Yea the only good MacBook keyboards are the 2015 pros and the airs. Apple should put more into keyboards than big ass trackpads
