PSU needs to be compatible with Ryzen?

Folktale

There's no harm in asking. But while I was looking for QVL on RAM, I came across the list for compatible devices and my Seasonic s12II 520W was not on the supported PSU list.

Does it matter? I know it is a very noob question, but I was wondering if this isn't important, why do they provide compatible lists for such things like PSU, GPU, HDD, SSD and all?

Mobo: ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS.

No it does not

As long as the PSU was intended to use for a PC it should work not like some random OEM PSU with propriety connector that works only with specific motherboard designed in a prebuilt

Those list are for hardware that's been tested by them to work

Yeah I agree as long as it's got standard ATX connectors and enough wattage for your built it will work.

A PC power supply, so long as it's designed well, is going to output power just the same as the next one. They don't care what CPU you have.

The only difference between most power supplys as far as compatibility is going to be c6/c7 support.  The reason it might not be listed is because it doesnt fully support c6/c7.  if the computer has trouble waking from sleep or standby you may need to disable c6/c7.

It'll work fine but since the S12 is group-regulated and very, very old you should look for something newer if possible.
