Best among these 3 CPU(No overclocking)

Hi Guys,

I not a fan of overclocking but, Which among these three CPU are best for raw performance? Ryzen 5 1600x, Ryzen 7 1700 or I7 7700k?

The r7 1700 and i7 7700k are almost the same price in my country. While the R5 1600x are around 80$ less I think. But I don't care I just want to know which among those three have better performance if I will NOT CLOCK them.

I'm more on games, and will try AAA games.

And will those three support 1440p, 144hz Monitor?

My GPU is Gtx 1070 strix

Thank you guys!!

The 7700K will give you better avg. framerates, but the 1700 will give better minimums (the avg. isn't going to be that noticeable, it's more placebo affect), and stutter less.

IMO, the R7 is the better CPU for gaming, despite being behind in averages.

Why no overclocking? You could just do a small overclock with no consequences, I myself have a xeon X5660 stock speed 2.8GHz overclocked to 4.5GHz no problems. A 100-200 MHz overclock souldn't be a problem even for stock coolers on the 7700k.

For gaming 7700 hands down. Multi tasking/threaded stuff like streaming ryzen 1700. In your case 7700 will be better

I don't stream so I7 7700 are for me.

but will this cpu last long for years And future games?

yup 7700 will be fine, don't worry about future of gaming, a 7700 can handle most games paired with a gtx 1070.

If you want a CPU that will last for years, I would go with the Ryzen 1700 due to newer games taking advantage of even more cores.

r7 for me.

It will for sure last 3 years longer.

Frame rates on the 1700 are only gonna go up.

R5 1600 FTW, and if you run a Asus motherboard, you click one button and it does a OC for you so you get better performance without having to do a thing, my R5 is running at 3.6 all the time now on stock cooler without me EVER touching the bios.

Yeah 7700 is good but for me the value of Ryzen and those extra cores always go along way.

Yes if you overclock it most mother boards have presets so it will automatically overclock it to 5ghz for you

Another vote for the i7 7700K here. Not sure why people are saying the minimums are better with the R7 1700.

for gaming  i7-7700K espcecially if you're not overclocking them...the 7700K runs at very high clockspeed out of the box and perform noticeably better in modern games.

Here is my be all end all opinion. If you want future-proof, go with 1700, if not go for the 7700k for best performance at this moment in time. Good luck!

I would recommend building two systems for the same budget and seeing which would do you the most good. Haven't used many red CPU's aside from server uses and thus my vote goes to Intel's i7, but I don't see why Ryzen wouldn't be a great match either.

Really does depend on the overall build though. No point going for a i7-7700K if you're left with a 1060 vs an R7-1600 and a 1070/1080 [or vice-versa].

No, it doesn't. Where the 7700K and 1700 sit, is fairly well past the point where the CPU has a profound affect on the experience. Without having an overlay, at best, you couldn't tell a difference. At worse, you'd prefer the 1700 because it has fewer hiccups, even though it isn't a big issue with the 7700K.

In just benches, octocores like the R7s, and Intel's 5960X/6900K, have slightly lower averages, but better frame times and minimums. In L1Tech's double blind test, assides from an occational hiccup on the Intel machines, the experience going from i7 to R7 to i7 HEDT didn't have any noticeable affect on how the games played.

I run an i7-4770k in my rig right now.

If my system were to die right now and I had to buy a new motherboard and CPU, the only reason I WOULDN'T buy an r7 1700 is because we don't have any microATX X370 boards yet.

Ryzen.

Here are Ryzen's benefits:

Great multitasking.

Games will support up to 8 cores soon, and a few already do.

Streaming

Editing

Any other professional work.

For gaming, Ryzen has higher minimums and better frame times. With RAM compatibility patches soon to be in orde, you can easily run up to 3600 MHz ram.

ryzen chipset will last for far longer as well..

because yeah if you use a cheap ass RX 480 and a 60hz bargain basement monitor..yes...SURE...but then WHY buying such expensive CPU to begin with...trow these in with a GTX 1080/1080ti and a 1440p 144hz Gsync panel like the one i'm using and i guarantee you that the performance difference between them CPU's in games will strike you right away son ;)
