Help My GPU Makes This Noise While Under Load

As the title says this is my GTX1070 G1 Gigabyte 8GB That is Making this Noise under load does Anyone Know If it's a Fan.

Watch the video I recorded and you will hear it during a windows Index Rating Test.

 

If it just a fan issue because all my games run fine the temps are normal and everything ells is ok.

That's coil whine probably. Your GPU is pumping out so many frames that it is emitting a noise. Set a frame limiter or something.

Is it the fan doin that? If so I will get a custom cooler so i do not need to send the card back. My old gpu was a GTX750ti very weak.

Correct, that is coil whine.

The the noise the electrical components on the GPU making that noise -- the electromagnetic coils / inductors to be exact.

It is NOT the fan.

 

As already mentioned, you can set a FPS limiter in games (e.g. keep is below 200 FPS).

Other then that, there is not much you can do.

Coil whine isn't accepted by some shops, and those that do usually send the card back directly because they don't consider it a problem

Anyway, good luck getting one without this hissing noise (like a kettle, literally)

The card isn't defective, it's just a characteristic of the inductors themselves.

You can try and see if you can get a replacement because of the coil whine, but not all stores (or GPU manufacturers) will accept it.

Ok i just rang them they said if it's just a single one they could replace it there for me saves me waiting for new one.

 

Meanwhile i have to use my old 750ti

Sadly It's a bit of a lottery, though all cards are capable of coil whine to some extent so I wouldn't mess around with RMAs etc.

 

I'd just set Vsync ON in all games, this should eliminate most of the whine since it typically occurs when the card is pushing high frame-rates as already mentioned.

 

Also it's worth noting some PSU's are known to induce coil whine more so than others, it could be more cost effective to replace a PSU.

Also i got a new PSU still get it mainly only on windows index dunno why its just that games i never hear it.

NO NO NO, don't let people not certified solder crap to your new card. I had pretty bad whine on my 1060 and running Heaven at max for about 24 hours fixed it (idk why but someone suggested it)

Since it's brand new prob get replaced if they can find the issue IF its a fan issue then that is a easy fix and he said GPU fans can have that noise like car brakes when they screech but if its a PCB part then they will get me a new card there pretty nice tech guys never had a bad experience with these guys.

Why are you not just getting a brand-new replacement??

AS SOON AS YOU DO THIS KIND OF WORK, manufacturer warranty is 100% void -- unless the work is done by....Gigabyte (or Gigabyte certified techs).

GPU coil whine is common since 900 series, you cant do much. If they accept it back you can play until you find perfect one

Got a new card and still has the problem and it's not other parts I did test with GTX260 and GTX750ti and no noise 2 psus and 2 boards + 3 cpus g2020 i5 3470 i7 3770 and only 1070 that does it. Maybe there is a physical design flaw on t his gpu model. Gigabyte GTX1070 G1 8GB

No, there is not. It's a thing that conductors do and there's no way to get around it other than a burn-in like Froody said, and even that can help just a little or not at all.

Your coil whine issue is just not a universal design flaw. What is a universal design flaw you might ask? GTX 970's 3.5GB + 0.5 GB VRAM scheme? Yes. R9 Nano thermal throttling with stock cooler? Yes. Fans on reference cards running loud? Nope. Coil whine? Nope

i have the same card as you and i don't have coil whine, my card does it only when being on a loading screen with 2000fps. 

like people said above you can't do much about it, also want to note that it's not going to kill your card.
