hello guys, i was very confused about one thing so I decided to ask. The thing is, all my friends us a console and I want to build my own pc. My friends mainly play overwatch and I want to play with them. If I get a PC I cannot play with them. So should i get a pc, an xbox one, or both?

Budget: 1200 Canadian dollars

you can get both, get a cheap used xbox one and use rest of the money for a pc.

we usually have high enough standard not to insult others personal preferences.

i suggest

1- find a used xbox

2- buy xbox overwatch

3- tell us rest of your budget for a pc

4- build a pc

5- have best of both worlds

Agree here man, Xbox 360 still great fun and games are also now super cheap, and large variety. Plus grab a Xbox gold and you get two free games every month and can at least play with your mates. I'll take playing with mates on console over playing alone at 4K PCMR.

gaming is always more fun with groups.

For $1200 CAD, you could get both. An XBOX One S will run you around $350 + tax ($395.50 w/ tax in Ontario), so that leaves you with $800 left to build a PC including taxes. Totally doable, and the PC would be decent mid-range, but not high end.

Honestly, you need to decide your priorities, and what features are "must have", and what your ultimate goal is.

If your goal is to play games with your friends, then getting a console is a no brainer, as you can then play MP against/with them.

If you don't care whether you can play with them, and want the more versatile PC setup + better graphics and performance? Get a $1200 CAD computer.

If you want to play with them, but also want the benefits of a gaming PC, get both.

Despite what some may say, no one can decide but you.

If your friends play on consoles and you want to join them, well, it's probably best to get a console. At the very least, get both, but I would say get a PC and not get a video card with it (unless you choose a Ryzen system, then just get something cheap) then save up for a video card. I'm sure your gaming needs will be satisfied for a bit until you can get the video card.

The console forum would like to say otherwise... a good bit of the time.

yup, not to be a dick but graphic is not the only thing in a game, legend of Zelda breath of the wild is the best game of 2017 in my opinion at 720p/900p 30fps.

just saying with goign with the older xbox 360 and its potato graphics is still a blast if you got mates. but yeah Xbone or switch with modern graphics is even better.

I still need to get round to playing it, will borrow a switch for it, not going to buy a console for one game that i know is great, but having never played a zelda the attraction just isn't there. Will sooner buy the PS Pro for Last of use and a few other great games.

IF you have a fast internet connection you could use Steam Link or Nvidia Shield to stream from your PC to TV. You should also use an ethernet connection on at least one device (PC or steam link/nvidia shield). Of course, you still won't be able to play with your console friends.

Get a good PC and brag to your friends.

Unbaised opinion xd: Console overwatch is not and never will be good as pc overwatch (assuming u get a pc that runs it well). The mechanics etc is better on pc, requires more skill (there isnt much  that "if the bullet is near u it does damage BS" ) in PC, and Blizzard said that PC will not be held back if something cannot be applied to console.

Well I mean you don't see competitive games on consoles. The way I see it is people who get consoles just want to have fun. Pc people use it for more competitive games usually

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

In short, i mean the quality of gameplay (and anything else) will be better on PC.
