Triple Monitor GPU Configuration Suggestion

cellowest

Hello! First time poster on the forums.
Looking for help regarding what to buy for my pre-existing build.
Display is 5760x1080p extremely thin bezels.

Currently running on a i7-3770k and GTX 1070 (EVGA SC) but the main thing is to run games like Battlefield and such on triple monitors while I'm doing digital art.
CPU cooling is a Corsair H110

Should I sell my 1070 and buy a 1080Ti or buy another 1070 and have SLI.
I understand that stability will always be better on a single 1080Ti but SLI 1070's would be about $140-$170 cheaper than a 1080Ti.

Any input would be great. Thank you!

Dual 1070 will only have 8GB VRAM though . you might be limited by that.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Sorry, wasn't exactly clear about that.
This is mainly focused towards triple monitor gaming.
If I only played BF1 then I would've immediately gone with the SLI but I switch through games monthly.

As a triple monitor gamer, I'd recommend at least a current x70 green GPU. This will give you enough power for the next few generations. 1080 would be best choice, though.

Do you already have the 3 monitors? If not I would look at an ultrawide monitor of some sort, the gaming experience is much more enjoyable, the only time where I think 3 monitor gaming is better is with Sim driving (insert vehicle here). I switched and couldn't be happier.

Not having to deal with Nvidia surround is a huge plus. I spent a couple years and it just grew to be obnoxious, having 1 larger screen with no bezels for a wider view is much more enjoyable, especially if you are doing shooting games.

subjective much more?

been surround user since release

triplehead to go before

and soft th before that

its all subjective

bezels dont bother me cuz you are mainly focused on main screen anyways side screens are just for peripheral vision

and there are many fixer apps and tweaks to adjust aspect ratio

fyi with 21:9 you need to use fixers apps and tweaks too

Topic was edited to clarify resolution.
I already have the monitors. This is to improve gaming performance while using all three since I currently only game on the center screen with the 1070.
I know the 1070 can game at the 5760x1080 resolution just fine on lower settings...but I want the upgrade haha.

I prefer multiple monitors over one ultrawide due to positioning/field of view.

Dual 1070's is the best option. 1080 sucks and a ti would do a bit better.  But if you mean bf1, sli is broken again on that game. Using a 3770k with a 1080 on bf1 with triple 1080 isn't so great.

So 1080ti and turn the settings down to the high preset.

No... a 1080ti would crush that game on ultra. his tripple resolution setup doesnt even have as many pixels as 4k.
as for the question, 1070sli would be better in games that are well optimized, and 1 1080ti would be better in games that arent

1080ti wouldn't "crush" shit. Giving that card way too much credit. Sure, you can turn it up to ultra, watch those frames drop and that frame time double. If that's your idea of crush then sure. That's not how I like to play my fps games. Watch that 3770k get crushed too.

The 1080ti can do 60fps 4k in pretty much all games. And a 3770k is still a great cpu lol. his rig will last for a long time

Yea if the end goal is 60fps then sure. Sacrifices must be made I guess.

With the horrid updates they do one bf1 it isn't a great cpu. Even the 4790k was pegged at 100% with a single titan black. Couldn't even use my 1080.

But maybe he will have better luck, everyone in here is running the same rig it would seem.
