So, I don't have my own computer ("WHAT!? HOW CAN YOU BE A PC GAMER WITHOUT YOUR OWN PC!?" I hear you exclaim) and I generally just browse the forum and Fold while doing it. I used to game, but lack of diversity has made me stop. Also lack of FPS. Anyways, back on topic. He thinks I shouldn't fold and it's "a waste of time". I guess this is what I get for wanting to help people. My mom doesn't like me on the computer all day even though I'm helping people on the forum. Whenever I go on the computer, I'm folding. Whenever he goes on, he's not folding. He just says "Fuck off." when I tell him to fold while being on 4chan.com/mlp. Is my brother an ass or am I just doing something wrong? By the way, he's 14 and can get a job and get his own PC... The PC isn't even in my room. I don't think I want to upgrade my PC anymore because I won't be using it by myself. He downloads a bunch of random photos of ponies.

Your brother is an ass. You just have to find someone that he will listen to to show it to him. Then once he is in is state of deep depression you can manipulate him to do whatever. Mildly sociopathic but it'll work.

psst.. you can't get a job at 14. unless it's a shitty paper round or something.

I can, at least in NH. I don't know about other places.

People who fold will say folding is good and useful.

I for one don't believe folding is being used for what its said it's used for.

And I also believe our medical knowledge is WAY past what we the public know about and is used just as another measure to control us.

Maybe I'm just an asshole though and prone to conspiracy theory's? :P

Yeah was going to say that. A I am folding and helping people on the forum is no excuse to prolong your time on the PC, tbh.

I have my own PC so I can do whatever I want. But if I were to fold, and the electricity bill would spike, my parents would say that I would have to pay it.

And makes your electricity bill go through the roof.

Unless you're running like 4 GPUs it won't raise up the power bill that much.

For those still wondering what folding is....Folding is a process in which proteins self-assemble. Proteins are amino acids that are based around nitrogen. Proteins are in various body tissues such as muscles, hair, and collagen. They are very important to our bodies. The problem is sometimes proteins don't "fold" properly and therefore we can start to get problems...Namely diseases and cancers. Protein folding is a very complex process and takes a lot of computational horsepower which is why it's taken so long to come as far as we have.

Also @Matsy

NO! Stop right there! Do not bullshit with conspiracy theories! This is the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

I hope no one else believes this.

Of course not. My electricity bill is 10 € / month higher because my computer is on nonstop. Guaranteed.
