actually pretty reasonable... because of the big fan it should be pretty silent.

what do you need a 1080mm rad?

GLHF finding a fan that would strap onto a car radiator that would be quieter than all the fans on this rad running at 400-500 RPM.

Just the fan that is used in cars, it would barely have to spin.

I have a very over-the-top friend who wants a "unique warercooled setup" and he was big on this idea, but I have no idea what case would fit something like this, haha

I have a car radiator family. Laying around. Moves a lot of air. Like 1000+ cfm and windy across the room. Problem is it pulls a lot of power at startup and you need a 400+ watt psu to start it or some sort of battery or capacitor. It also pulls about 100w running. It's fairy loud but not 1u server loud. If you want to know how loud, wait for a hot day and walk across a street with running cars and that noise is the fan.

Yep. Also with that big of a radiator and a relatively low heat source you don't even really need a fan.

Ah yes, an electric radiator fan: The loudest son-of-a-bitch fan you can possibly get that'd fit.

That'd be great if it weren't for the fact that those require a decent amount of power to run in the first place, and even spinning them on hand power, most of them are still noisier than that 1080mm rad filled with something like Vardars just because of the bearing.

Phobya also makes a housing for that radiator:

I use a similar setup with my system and I have the fans running at 5V (could probably drop them lower) and don't have any issues with cooling, so it's absolutely an overkill system.

Most people mount them externally or separate from the build entirely.  Otherwise modding them into the back panel isn't a bad idea as long as they can get good airflow.

Also check out the MO-RA3 360 and 420.  The 360 Performs just a TINY bit better than the NOVA and looks WAY better IMO, the 420 smashes it.

That is a ridiculous radiator, they also make them in 3x3 140mm variant too. At this point, just make your own case.

These guys do a bunch of insane custom work. Just click on the configuration tool for the case and you can even put a triple quad radiator in. Where you'd find a triple quad radiator in the first place... don't ask me.

Very nice find, ty

I have this rad. You can mount it to the side panel of any tower case on standoffs. The Phobya Wacoolt cases fit it as well as Mountain mods.

I'd get from here as they have good fans for the job at a dirt cheap price
