Samsung note 8 "confirmed"

Mr.Meerkat

Surprised that this hasn't been posted yet or searching "note" and "note 8" has failed me...

Quote

The company will introduce a new phablet later this year in the form of the Note 8, and if the impressive Galaxy S8 is anything to go by, we're expecting a standout handset.

We've already heard from Samsung Mobile chief DJ Koh, who told CNET we'd see a "better, safer and very innovative Note 8" later this year, but other than that, we've thus far been limited to rumours and unofficial renders.

Soooooo...yeah, no specs or really anything unfortunately, however the note line will continue!

Funny how they specifically said "safer" :P

Frankly I can already see every single person who bought/was going to buy a note 7 getting their wallets ready for the note 8 so...from a business standpoint, I don't actually think the hazardous note 7 has affected them too much...

On a side note, I don't think this thread needs that many bomb memes so plis...thanks ;)

Who am I kidding? Feel free to post as many bomb memes as you want.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I don't get why, unfortunately, IMHO the note ( I'm a note 4 owner) is the best mobile phone for power-users hands down. I'm probably going to buy it

Was* the best mobile phone for power users, even last time around, what made the note 7 significantly better than the s7?

I'll be interested to see how they differentiate the note 8 from the S8+. I have an S8+ and I can't see how they can make it any bigger without getting ridiculous.

So slap a pen and dual rear camera on it and call it a day?

That would make it "safer"

for both the user and the company

I'm sorry, but that confuses me too. Now i can see you are Scottish, and i am not a native English speaker, but wording of that sentence is a bit off for me too. I feel like that's two separate sentences, or at least a coma between them. So:

yeah, no specs or really anything unfortunately. However the note line will continue!

As far as I recall, there's already a Galaxy Note 8 back in 2013. It was an 8" Android tablet with the S Pen stylus. I think they should name it with something else. http://www.samsung.com/uk/tablets/galaxy-note-8-0-n5110/

It should be more power user oriented, but I have a feeling Samsung won't make it as such unfortunately.

I wish they would ditch the curved screen, give us a removable battery (without the squeaky back please Samsung).

Pen, bigger screen.

I think the pen is enough of a differentiator. Dual cameras would be a huge plus, and don't they usually put a newer version of the Exynos in it? I'm hoping it also gets a better positioned finger print sensor. Maybe with dual cameras they'll feel it doesn't screw up the look of the back. :|

Well yeah, expected. Everything they couldn't do with S8 will probably be in S8 Note like possible touch sensor under screen, two cameras, maybe dual front facing speakers.

I love my note 4. Thought about getting a note 7, but then shortly after they started exploding. Can't wait for the note 8.

Loved the Note 7 design , but then the flaw happened & it lost all hype & integrity, Hope they'd do well for a comeback .

Details separate people.

Hopefully, they won't make another bomb. Isn't a joke, I wanted a note 7, but then I'm like, oh they explode well nevermind.

Also, it needs a removable battery like my Samsung J3. Also, I want this phone the support band 66 LTE.

I'd like a removable battery as well (currently using a LG V20), but I'm afraid that ship has sailed.

I doubt Samsung has the 'courage' to return to removable batteries (at least for flagship phones) in this metal-and-glass-design world we now live in.
