New Laptop help- Gaming or Ultrabook?

Hi so i am going to be going to college next year and i will be nar my house but still in my own dorm. While on the weekends i can come home to my gaming pc i am thinking i might want to game in my dorm. That being said the first priority is a good college laptop. I need it to last me they day on 1 charge and i need it to be good to type on

The xps 15 seems like a good option with decent battery a nice big screen with a small body (i dont want the xps 13).

For gaming though the only one that i see as portable is the razer blade 2017. Wich is known for throttling, poor customer care, but it checks the other boxes.

What do you think? Right now im leaning toward the mor portable xps 15 and MAYBE getting something along the lines of a razer blade.

Inspiron 15 7567 now that it has an IPS screen option. The tests I've found reported it can last 9+ hours and still have gaming chops. Provided of course you're not expecting to run AAA titles at max settings at 60 FPS.

It's also a lot cheaper than the XPS 15 or Razer Blade (especially the Razer Blade).

Its alot less portable than either of those options. Also it only has a 1050ti and the xps 15 already has a 1050.

Mu budget is around 1500 with a little more f its for gaming

I've heard good things about it, are you speaking from experience?  The better CPU is worth it in all but the most extreme cases anyways IMO

I will do more research on those thanks for bringing them to my attention. I also saw some by gigabyte that i am going to look at. The xps 15 is just so damn portable though lol.

If you want portable you can check out the aero 14, probably going to run into thermal throttling but its super thin and light while being way cheaper than razer

Good to know, what size was it?  I'm considering the 17" model and as a Canadian returning an Aorus laptop will be a massive hassle (I'd probably buy via US)

I agree. But it's so niche and so expensive that for people who want to buy it it's one of the only options. Thin light loud hot thin 1070 and 1080 laptops.

No. I can bear the 15in and 17in ones but the 13in ones r terrible. No TB3, shit screen, no room for Oc.

Just get a laptop for school like a t460s on ThinkPad outlet or eBay refurb. And game at home on the desktop.

no reason to ever get it now. the dell 7567 has an ips screen option rendering the former options like the y520, acer vx15 and even the n850HK1 obsolete.
