AM4 Soket

I want to buy the new ryzen 5 1600x and i was wandering if i could keep my cooler. I'm using it with an am3+ Soket.

Unless you are using a motherboard that has AM3+ mounting in addition to AM4 mounting (which I can only think of the Asus Crosshair that does this): you will need some sort of mounting bracket. AM3+ and AM4 mounting are unfortunately different.

Most bigger companies released some brackets for their coolers, not sure if this company did too.

You can use whatever you wanted, but its a matter of ease of installation.

For example I could install a 454 into a Jeep YJ, it will not fit, so I need to modify the body to the extreme, probably add $10k and 10 months to the job.

You can ask LEPA for an adapter plate which might cost you shipping, or you could zip-tie the Aquachanger to the holes in the motherboard which has been shown to be a fine installation method by linus himself

Thats one hell of a analogy not sure that applies here don't think anyone wants to hack their motherboard or AIO cooler on a chance it may be destroyed!

I will summarize.

You can do whatever you want, literally. But its a matter of time and money.

 

So computer lingo, you can, if you want, install a i7-920 LGA-1366 into a LGA-1151. You just need time and money, which is, you need a whole team of engineers larger then Intel and AMD combined.

Guys i have updates, if you live in EU and you have purchased a LEPA cooler in 2016 you can ask for the adaptor for free
