How long can I expect my 4790k to last after repair

Hey guys so apparently my cpu is runnin again after the guy soldered some capacitors off of an i3 on to mine

 

its been benched all day at stock and is stable

 

can I expect a reduced life in my cpu due to it being repaired ? 

 

If there more more chance of it dieing sooner rather than later ? 

 

Im going to start putting money away for a 1700 ryzen build to be safe

 

bu what would you guys honestly expect ?

I don't think anything appreciable will be taken away. If the tech knew what he was doing, it should be fine.

What happened to damage it?

 

Did this happen when you were delidding it?

Only apparently... May I question as to whom had possession of it when it was benched?

 

I would see no issues from operating such as long as the technician had certified that they have experience in repairing to those standards. Maybe some decreased life span by around a few hours or so, nothing mammoth like a month & so forth, but this would only be credit to the capacitors likely not being intended to be removed & reused on another CPU.

One would expect a lifespan similar to a normal processor, as technically all he did was take the capacitors off another processor and put them onto yours. They should be identical..

So the delid was fine, my board actually died the same day unrelated but when takin the chip out to try in another board I dropped it and the ihs fell on top and snapped like 4/5 capacitors 

 

he said he swapped them off of a i3 and it's working again now 

 

had to buy a sabertooth board tho as not many places have z97 boards now let alone ones to run sli so that's another 170 to the bill unfortunatly

But if that guy really managed to make a chip working like that, it will last as long as an untouched 4790k since he must be skillful. Just don't overclock it, since the donor chip wasn't designed for overclocking and it wont surprise me that Intel decides to put transistors of lower quality into it.

The caps are the same so it should be fine 

I mean running it at stock 4.4 is more than the i3 would ever run at for a start

One thing with cpu, they dont die easily. if its fixed correctly and is running stable. u should be good to go for a good bit of time until something happens.
