iBuyPower (Vs.) OriginPC

Go to solution Solved by Droidbot,

Neither - they're both scam artists.

iBuyPower make PCs based on cheap mobos, generic coolers, and shit PSUs, and Origin is just straight overpriced.

For reference:

ibuypower.com has currently a system up called the 'Intel Z270 i5 eSports Daily Special' for $979.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pZFY7h - on par, with better mobo, case, and PSU, for $250 less (not that I'd recommend buying this however)

A little bit more, and you can get a 7700/1070 system that would smash the shit out of that poor 7400/1050 system

About the same. Their case isn't custom, it's an Azza Photios 250, currently $59 at Newegg

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811517041

Cable management isn't hard to do or learn, it takes about 15 minutes and a pack of cable ties from personal experience.

Their mice use 3050 sensors iirc, which the Rival has an upgraded version of.

Origin is overpriced but they seem to know what they're doing. Former Alienware employees if I remember correctly.

Should you buy a iBuyPower Rig, or a OriginPC?

Build your own.

Ibuypower is nothing to write home about.

OriginPC is a true boutique building company. Even Linus likes them. But they are more expensive.

I actually have been to OriginPC main plant here in Miami Florida as they are 10 minutes from my house. Their builds are beyond anal when it comes to cable management. Also they don't use prebuilt cases on the majority of the builds. They build their own cases.

If I had to choose between those 2 companies it would be OriginPC.

CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower are related.  One either ones the other or they're both under someone I can't remember.  But they're linked.

Also OriginPC service is generally kinda crap.

You can get decently priced prebuilts, but if you aren't trying to get a highly customized build you're scared to do yourself (so if you just want a good pc) I'd recommend a better prebuilt or building your own.

The Corsair One is probably the best prebuilt I've seen recently for high end gaming.  It's only marked up like 100-200 bucks and comes with a super tiny case, watercooling on the cpu and gpu, and a warranty.
