Best desk chair that can handle 300lbs?

KB_TheDireWolf

Looking for a chair (Can be gamer themed or just a plain one that is really comfy) that can hold my 290lbs lineman sized body:

Who said nerds can't play sports! Lol.

Anyway, in Canada, for the cheapest price possible. Would love to have a headrest because I spend a lot of time gaming not going to lie.

Systems built (personal) | 1. Bad Wolf (Has passed on to PC Heaven): https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/zX9WGX |  2. Red Husky: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/Mwhypg

I would look at regular chairs, "gaming chairs" suck ergonomically and are usually built fairly cheaply, hence their weight limits. I would check your local OfficeMax, Staples, or local office supplier whatever that might be in Canada, eh!

What the fuck is with that stereotype of the way we speak. The two only places in Canada that have there own language is Quebec and Newfoundland. Canadian French for Quebec and Newfinese for Newfoundland (I am not kidding but, Newfoundlanders do have there own language. It can be quite a heavily modified English with a crap ton of slang or just normal English depending were you are on the Island.)

Otherwise, our speech is very similar to the US. I tend to use a good bit of British words due to watching a number of British YouTubers, Jack Frags, The Mighty Jingles, Gavin Free from Lets Play etc. Just that we use the metric system vs the US. So it screwed with me when I went to the states and everybody was using miles....

I can point to AK-Racing. I got the Premium model. The name of one of their lines. It is really comfy after having it set up to your liking.

Only 2 downsides ok 3 perhaps to AK Racing.

1. The armrests are a little too low on max heigth for my liking (I'm around 195 cm)

2. The plastic sideblends to break off after a few weeks when you tighten them good. They hold longer when they are connected wobbling, but then just leave them off.

3. The wheels. They have no braking mechanism at all. As soon as you got a wooden floor like me, and you stand up with a little more force, the chair goes through all of the room. And even when losing stability while leaning up front to pick something up, it may roll away from you and you go down.

3.5 I just remembered, the backrest is really nice, the rocking mechanism is constructed with in mind, that you can put it back nearly to a flat 180°, so when you got that, it won't throw you off. Now the problem begins, when you sit upright. Rocking the chair is next to impossible then.

Main System:

Anghammarad : Asrock Taichi x570, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @4900 MHz. 32 GB DDR4 3600, some NVME SSDs, Gainward Phoenix RTX 3070TI

System 2 "Igluna" AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Pro, Core I5 3570k @4300, 16 GB Ram DDR3 2133, some SSD, and a 2 TB HDD each, Gainward Phantom 760GTX.

System 3 "Inskah" AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Pro, Core I5 3570k @4300, 16 GB Ram DDR3 2133, some SSD, and a 2 TB HDD each, Gainward Phantom 760GTX.

On the Road: Acer Aspire 5 Model A515-51G-54FD, Intel Core i5 7200U, 8 GB DDR4 Ram, 120 GB SSD, 1 TB SSD, Intel CPU GFX and Nvidia MX 150, Full HD IPS display

(Abit Fatal1ty FP9 IN SLI, C2Duo E8400, 6 GB Ram DDR2 800, far too less diskspace, Gainward Phantom 560 GTX broken need fixing)

I got one of those kind of chairs where the backrest is connected to the chair on the armrests. For "heavier" build people they are comfy at first, but those armrests, if not made of metal tend to break after not a very long time.

I once got a chair for around 200€ like that, oh well it was comfy, I could sleep in that thing, felt like being cuddled well. But then, after 3 months of well, using it, leaning back, watching movies, working and gaming, one of the armrests tore apart, which left the backrest lose on one side, so no leaning back anymore. Tried to glue, but no chance, I got it changed on warranty 2 times, the third I didn't bother anymore, brought it to the junkyard with a tear in one eye due it has been a really comfy one, and got one of the above mentioned AK Racing Premium line chairs. Everything in them that is carrying weight or getting strain is made of metal.

So far after one year of really high usage, it still like on the first day.

I wish we could use the metric system tbh.

And also at least the stereotype is "Canadians are always super nice and just really like maple syrup". Could be way worse. You could be an arrogant self entitled fuck head american who doesn't know where other countries are :D

Cheap staples-type chairs don't last for big guys. They just aren't built well.

I got a herman-miller aeron used 10 years ago. It's incredibly comfortable, doesn't get hot, and absolutely built like a tank. Yes, it will cost you a couple bucks-- but you won't be replacing it every year either.
