8350 vs 4790k OC'd and with a 290, how big is the gap?

(I'm not sure if this should go into CPU's, Motherboards, and Memory or Graphics Cards)

I was curious how big the gap between these two CPU's is when oc'd and with a mid range oc'd video card.

Systems Specs

8350 - 4.6Ghz

NH-D14

990fxa-ud3h

8GB Hyperx 2400@2133 (I will put a CPU-Z shot of the 8350 when I hook that pc back up)

4790k - 4.7Ghz

Hyper 212 Evo

Z87 X-Power

8GB Hyperx 2400@2133

Video Card - Diamond Multi Media r9 290 with an Arctic Accelero Xtreme 3 @1155 Core and 1400 Mem gsZe83Y.png

Update - I added Fire strike. (I was on driver version 17.2.1 with the 8350, then just updates to 17.3.3 because I'm putting my PC back together, I don't know why it's not approved)

1080p - 8350 - 76.5/57.3 - 4790k - 77.6/66

1440p - 8350 - 56.5/48.3 - 4790k - 52.4/45.6 (I ran this multiple times and the results are consistent)

2560x1080 - 8350 - 64.3/57.3 - 4790k - 64.7/55 (Same with this one)

Portal 2 - I did the same level each time (Don't know the name but I will find out), Wheatley combines two test chambers if that helps.

1080p - 8350 - 289.5/279.7 - 4790k - 295.6/293

You telling us the 8350 at those speeds is way behind a x58 xeon? and the xeon is on par with haswell?

I have a intel xeon cpu and a 1070 i hope this makes you salty.

If I recall correctly, Crysis 1 has pretty serious issues with FX CPU's since they came out long after the game was patched.

That is correct, it was a pain to get the game to even start up.

The video result is not comparable that's a GTX 780 maxed on 1080P, not an R9 290 which should be better at Crysis.

I have a intel xeon cpu and a 1070 i hope this makes you salty.

@Aphexxis

On an Amd chip you have to do this http://steamcommunity.com/app/17300/discussions/0/864945401070748061/ to even get the game to start up, if you were wondering.

WOW

That's..... odd.... especially for a CPU to command such a difficult way to start a game up.

In Cinebench my 980X scores 821 at stock and 927 at 4.0 GHz. If I had a better cooler than this seven-year-old AIO that somehow still works, it could go further.

X58 is still really good at multithreaded stuff.
