Yea gaming. But I heard of major bottlenecks with basically all fx processors

I'd get the 480. Leaves more room for the future.

Somewhat true but it's not that bad once decently overclocked. Will hit CPU bottlenecks in lower resolutions.

FX 9590 is pretty outdated at this point. I can't recommend an FX CPU. It will bottleneck the 1070, although I don't think by too much. Regardless, there is no upgrade path, I wouldn't even bother. How about this: You get a less expensive CPU, maybe the Ryzen 5 1600x or below and still get the 1070.

Desktop - CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x | COOLER: be quiet! Dark Rock 3 | MOBO: ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz | GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio | STORAGE: 2x XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB, Crucial MX300 525gb, Seagate Barracuda Pro 4TB | CASE: Phanteks P400s TG White | PSU: Corsair HX750i

Laptop - Dell XPS 13 | Intel i7 7500u | Intel HD 620 Graphics | 8GB RAM | 256GB M.2 SSD

Peripherals - KEYBOARD: KBD67 Lite w/Gateron Milky Yellow Pros | MOUSE: Razer Deathadder V2 | AUDIO: Sennheiser HD 6XX, Truthear Hexa | MONITOR: Dual 1440p 27" MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD

R7 1700+RX480 much better. The FX 9590 CPU will bottleneck the GPU (and also will burn your mobo)

or wait for the 5 series and get a 1070 or a 6gb 1060 and spend about the same

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

I'd take the R7 1700 with 480 any day. Not only is the 1700 more powerful but it also has a good upgrade where the 9590 is the best 9590 in terms of performance so you're left at a dead end.

it will be a bigger bottleneck, a potato ahs better IPC than a FX cpu.

Ya that 125 watt tdp I think I'd be spending more on power than the actual cpu

No no no. No FX. BAD FX. FX HAS BEEN A BAD BOY(or gril)

rx 480 + 1700 is better

Ryzen 5 3600

RX 590 8GB

WD Blue 1TB

TDP is a measure of heat to dissipate not electrical wattage.

It is gonna be a bottleneck, but would I get better fps with a 1070 and a 9590 or a 480 and a 1700

Pretty much the same thing since almost all the energy drawn by the chip gets turned into heat.

i used to have a fx 8350 and a gtx 1070 and it bottlenecked really hard. i mean you wont go over 60 fps at 1080p in any demanding game and there are alot that still failed to reach 60 fps in 1080p. with the r7 1700 i now get much better fps and can reach above 60 fps easily in games i was struggling to get somewhere fluctuating between 40 and high 50s fps.

I'm not sure if I understood ur intentions correctly. The question u asked is which setup is more balanced and I stand by my opinion it's 1070 but if the question was which one to get I'd say rx 480.

you'll get better fps and frame times with the r7 1700 which is quite important. you wont have the sudden fps dips that you will see with the fx series cpu.

TDP isn't a measure like meters or grams. They literally slap 95W on every processor from Intel from i3 to i7. Hell, we're lucky they lowered it to 85W TDP for Pentiums!

Last sentence was a joke.

basically either get an r5 or r7 chip or go intel is what you should be getting. the fx 9590 is not worth how much it costs.

It depends, but I wouldn't trust the thing.
