Help! Your graphics hardware does not support all features (CSM) needed to run this game. (CSGO)

UPDATE - My solution: It fixed when I installed the Windows Creator Update, so reinstalling Windows would probably work as well. I believe that it may have been a corrupt DirectX DLL, even though I reinstalled DirectX.

 

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but the graphics card section seemed most appropriate because the error relates to it.

Mods; if its in the wrong place, feel free to move or delete.

 

I am getting the following error on CSGO, which I was not getting yesterday and the game was perfectly fine, also all other games are perfectly fine, just CSGO:

I have:

Validated game files.

Rebooted.

Checked im on the latest NVIDIA driver.

Tried rolling back NVIDIA drivers.

Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers (and fully wiped and reinstalled).

Ran CSGO in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Ran CSGO in admin mode.

Checked that DirectX is up to date.

Checked CSM is enabled in BIOS.

does your GPU have a BIOS toggle button on it ? My R9 390 has a BIOS/UEFI button for this exact reason

Nope, no buttons on it.

It worked yesterday and all of a sudden its not working today, so I never needed to use a button.

very strange, are you familiar with uninstalling the PCI Express Root Complex Driver ?

Nope.

Cant seem to find it in Device Manager either.

you have to view devices by connection from the view tab, its hidden away in ACPI compliant Computer. You will need a network driver though, incase windows doesnt already have one for your hardware. Uninstalling this will remove all drivers from the PCI bus, so networking, GPU, USB, nearly everything. It will reboot, and automatically reinstall everything from wupdate, hence why you need a network driver just incase

how old is your machine ? i've never seen a system without the PCI root in device manager. You are looking under "view devices by connection" right ?

Im viewing devices by connection, and its computer that I built myself a couple years ago. I reinstalled Windows a week or two ago, as well.

If this fix doesn't work you have DDU your drivers and reinstall Geforce Experience and let it update drivers on auto.

after a quick google, i learnt that on some systems (ones ive never seen) it shows up as PCI simple communications. Anyone else have more info on this ?

I've followed that video before, and I've also fully wiped everything to do with Nvidia and the drivers and reinstalled them, to no avail.

Hmmm... Could you send a screen shoot of your dxdiag on display tab? this seems like a DX12 issue, you could download latest Microsoft Visual C++ package...

Try running it with a single monitor connected, this triple monitor setup you have running might be messing up something... also go on steam and set it to start cs:go on windowed mode, your have a very troubling issue that I don't think we can help much without further analyzes, you could try 3d Analize but it is a long shot...

Set CSGO to windowed, disconnected two monitors and its still happening... Trying 3D Analyze...

3D Analyze didnt work, so im stuck again.

Go to bios, reset to defaults and save.
