gaming build

xzantian

for clarity, the gpu and monitor will be purchased at a later date, i know i should save for the whole computer, but i work for an IT firm off a broken 5 year old laptop, and need something soon that functions, and dont have the money to buy the entire pc at once. also, the cpu will be bought a month early since its a steal of a deal that wont be around long.

Still has a shitty cpu cooler.

Ram is too slow.

The PSU is poor. Grey label CXM is better.

Motherboard doesn't support SLI so why a 750W psu ?

Freesync Monitor with an Nvidia gpu ???????

3/10 Must try harder.

Bad SSD, extremely overpriced and shitty GPU, bad cooler, mediocre case, overkill PSU that is lower quality than OP's, substandard WiFi card

Was about to say 'CXM isn't bad' until I realized it was a green unit

That thing is very, very mediocre.

It's a little over your budget, but only by 4%.

  • 6700k- Second-best caming CPU money can buy, temps are better than the 7700k due to better thermal compound under the IHS.
  • Gammaxx 400- Tomshardware's editor's choice CPU cooler- beats the 212 EVO and the H7 and is a steal at $25.
  • 1080 Ti- the fastest GPU money can buy.
  • Tesseract SW- arguably the very best budget case.
  • S12ii 620- an incredibly sturdy power supply with more wattage than you need.
  • A $300 28-inch 4k monitor that supports FreeSync, in case AMD has a good 4k card in the next few years and you want to upgrade.
  • The price you SHOULD pay for Windows.

CX Green label PSUs I wouldn't call very very mediocre. They're decent. Fine build quality and voltage regulation. Their only demon is the really low rated temperature so if you're constantly in 100F weather you shouldn't get one. But I would give anyone a CX430 before an EVGA B1 for example. Thankfully it's discontinued now and replaced by a better model.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

You could save $60 and get Win 10 from Kinguin. Do it at your own risk but it worked for me.

Same specs, reduced price with a higher wattage PSU so you have a little more headroom: (OR use the saved money to get a GTX 1080 for 1440p 60 in almost every game at high-ultra)
