Ethernet problems

Try another cable, at the moment you have tested 2 devices with that same cable/port and they both test out at 100Mbps, so trying another cable and/or port on the router with both devices would narrow down the problem for us maybe, or at least make us look elsewhere... I suspect that the cable may not be cat5e, or that the port you are using is only 10/100 rated, check the router to see what it says, also could you post here what make and model router you have please? also, might be a good idea to get another cable if you don't have one.

At least we definitely know it's not anything ISP side of the equation and that you are getting the speeds you pay for, just that something in your equipment is not up to spec or has wrong settings applied, or both.

please get back to use with the info above.

i tried a new cable which just stopped my internet so i plugged the previous wire and it has given me a very shaky connection (keeps connecting and disconnecting)

Ahh shit, I hate those things. I have one myself, and don't use it as it will not let some things work properly and have a better router anyway. I know several people that have had similar problems, changing to a better router solved the problem straight away. I suspect it might be a firewall problem on the HH5... but don't know for sure. All I know is in my own case I was glad I already have a decent router to use instead.

I would suggest to you about buying a router, but that's a big outlay and may not be your problem, considering that you had the connection working fine before you re-installed windows right? You didn't try to change stuff on your router too did you?

The most logical thing would be your adaptor being the problem, did you try disabling it and making a new connection as I said in a previous post?
