Driving is something that really helps me relax and let loose, so a delivery job seems like the best option for my unexperienced, high-school-self. I'd appreciate any feedback, tips, or advice from anyone that has experience in this type of job, thanks!

Do you have a driver's license?

It depends. Some places require you to supply a vehicle to use. Not sure where you live, but in the US generally you get paid by the mile you dive, something small like 30 cents a mile or something. The big issue is the cost of fuel and the maintenance on your car. Thats why I would never do any type of delivery job, because I dont want to put the mileage on my car.

Then there is a obvious limitations. Depending on cargo you might need a CDL or special training. In some area's you might need a chauffeur's  licence if you want to do something like UBER or drive a cab. Generally something like Pizza delivery just requires a regular licence with a clean driving record. So you need to decide what kind a job you want.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Most Uber drivers I known say you need to own your own car (and that means as @Donut417 said putting lots of miles on it quickly) to make any kind of decent money, drivers who rent out their cars need to work 12 to 14 hour shifts everyday to really make the same as a car owner driver in just a regular 8 hours shift.

Check with your insurer to make sure that you are covered if using your vehicle to perform work like that, some won't cover even pizza delivery.  It's all fine until something serious happens.  When I was delivering they raised my rates about 20$ a month I think

Pizza delivery can pay surprisingly well, though I'm in the US.

you have to supply your own vehicle, and surprise surprise when you drive literally all day your vehicle repairs are gonna cost a lot. Also, people like to order pizza when they themselves don't want to leave- like rainstorms, snowstorms and extremely cold weather, all hard on your vehicle. I know plenty who've trashed their car delivering pizza in the rain. Hit the wrong puddle on a side street, cold water on engine, yikes.

That said, with tips it's not half bad.

Most delivery jobs don't pay a great deal, especially since you're in high school so that will take out most commercial delivery companies that only operate during bankers hours. You can't really Uber, though that again is area dependent. Where I live, insurance for an Uber driver is about $9,500 a year. There are private delivery companies, but again it depends where you live. If it's a large city you could try and get into that Amazon program where they outsource their deliveries. One of the fellows who delivers items to my work gets paid a flat rate of $3 a package. Deliver 10 items to one location? $30. However he works during the day and owns a large cargo van. It also wasn't Amazon, it was a logistics company.

Honestly, I think pizza delivery is likely your best bet.

If you are under 26, good luck as insurance rates are higher.

This video says that driving for uber is basically trading mileage on your car for money, with a net profit of nearly 0

It depends on the concept of "your car". If it's your everyday car you want to use for other shit frequently, then yeah. If it's just an extra car you are paying as a tool for your work (Ubering) then the miles really don't matter as much basically you run a small cab company with 1 cab so of course you'll get a lot of miles and  maintenance on the car.

Also a very popular thing here in Mexico at least is for someone of a middle class background that normally has a regular, kinda old and kinda beat up car to get a brand new car and just work on Uber enough to cover the car payments. It does gets some extra mileage on the car but it also lets you get a much nicer car than you'd normally be able to afford.

That gets pushed around by car salesmen a lot here: Get a brand new car and have it pay for itself or greatly reduce the costs by driving 1 or 2 hours everyday for Uber. It's not the best idea imho (the gas and maintenance cost means you put in more than you get out of it) but some people want the bragging rights of a really nice brand new car so if you want a deluxe new model that's one way to get it.

Taxi Drivers are the worst drivers I have seen on the road, next to that would be "New Drivers" or minority/female/immigrant drivers.

I have not seen any Uber drivers but seeing their rates for an airport trip from my home, its about half price. I use car sharing a lot, but their zone is limited and they got rid of the Mercedes Benz 4 door cars which were a hoot to drive. I always drove the shit out of them, while the original Smart cars are gutless and the radio sucks ass, they were suprisingly gripy where most other FWD and RWD cars failed. My rider ship has dramatically decreased since there are just the Smart cars now. I'd say I would spend thousands of dollars a year, heck I would even go for aimless drives just to get driving out of my system.

The smarter choice is to actually rent a car from a car rental agency, and I could but I do not have a regular credit card just prepaid which sneaks by a few locations but not all. Then there is the fact my legitimate license expires in about a year, but its currently suspended for hopefully only 2 more years. The funny fact is, I delayed my court for a year, and kept getting replacements, DL's which they gave me and it was all legal and kosher. Nothing wrong in that, not at all, just spent $20 and took a few weeks to get mailed to me from Ontario. Eitherway that is another reason I dont drive as much. But if I did have wheels, the business to be in is construction, or hauling/delivery. Put your ad in Kijiji or Craigslist and there is always people wanting a person with a truck. Then when you require a trailer, I just rented one from UHaul. Their daily rates are amazing, but they snag you with kilometer rates of $0.35 back when, now its like $0.50/km.

Pizza Delivery is a good business

Stealership Parts pickup delivery

Stealership Customer Service Van

School Bus Drivers - The commericals are wanting immigrants who cant speak english, it seems to me anyway. No need to speak or listen while driving bus anyhow.

There seems to be lots of ads in the newspaper for companies wanting anyone with a license. They dont pay extra though for that higher class of worker.

Newspaper Delivery is very late hours running into the morning.

Moving Company

Heavy Equipment Operator would have been a job I would get into if I could go back in time.

Or Crane Operator.
