Are you using the front audio ports on your case, or the plugs on the mobo in the back of your PC?

Because it gets worse with increased FPS, aka during heavy load of your system, I'd definitely say it's a poor grounding issue between a component on or in the mobo and the sound circuitry. You could try an inexpensive USB sound card to see if it eliminates the noise, or read the guide that @Abdul201588 posted above.

A sounds solution over motherboard one is always nice solution if you have funds to get something nice. I think everyone here can agree with that, especially if you like to listen to a lot of music, or you seek the best sound experience in your games.

But if your problem is just static sound and you are only looking to stop it. Make sure that:

  • All input audio lines are muted in your sound panel. (Line-In, Mic, etc.)
  • Don't use the case fontal headphones plug (they are usually awful, and ground the audio pin to teh case and/or USB as a price cutting measure).

The above wont eliminate the static problem you hear, but should reduce it, possibly a lot depending on your setup.

I have a guide in my signature which I recommend before shelling out money for an off-board sound solution.
