Does anyone know how I can check my CPU temperature? Do I have to download anything?

Yeah you need some sort of program to check it. There are many good ones including, but not limited to: MSI Afterburner, CPU-Z and NZXT Cam. These are ones I have experience with and can say they are good.

Hwmonitor seems like the best to me.

NZXT CAM is a bit messed up and just feels slow.

I use HWMonitor, because it does all the hardware in your computer (has a lot of extra readings as well in case you care like fan speeds and voltages)

well I'm 1 and I've seen a few people asking about overclocking them. 6 seemed like a good number to go with.

on the note of overdrive it doesn't actually tell you the temp but the amount left until throttling e.g if it says 52c there is 52c between current temp and its tcase.
