I mean a comprehensive guide to RYZEN preorders, updated as they become available.  I'm focusing on enthusiast, what most gamers/professionals would want.  I mentioned this somewhere in initial post.

X300 is the mITX equivalent of the X370. The A320 is designed for professionals who just need it to work. Most professionals I know don't know of or care for overclocking etc. I still don't think you're using the word preorders in the right context.

sadly confirmed, yes Intel should have not responded with this lame 7740k in the first place, especially because of the retarded new motherboard requirement for the exact same chip the 7700k is just with a tiny bigger cache and tiny bigger frequency.

What makes it even worse is the fact that 8th gen is going to be 14mn LGA 1151 still what makes this so called Kaby-Lake-E even more pointless.

Completely worth the wait, I would really accept seling my current rig for the price I paid for it to take a blind chance on this r7 1800x, if it already competes nicely against Broadwell-E it will already be worth its cost

And if the leaks are true... god damn:

How could Ryzen's highest middle level CPU slightly beat a 6700K?

I thought Ryzen wasn't supposed to even match Skylake and certainly not beat it?

What does the X in the model number for some of the CPUs mean?

Ryzen is a pandora box waiting to be opened at the release day xD

the X means overclocking ready just like the K in Intel cpus [:

Ummm..  You are aware that Pandora's box was not safe to open aren't you?  ? lol

Ah.  I thought those might be OC capable.  Thank you for clarifying that.

When is Ryzen supposed to be released?

I'm tempted to get one of the CPUs to check it out but I certainly have no plans to sell my current rig and go red.

I like blue too much.  ?

It can be the most beautiful thing in the world or the most horrendous of all curses xD

1st of March and yeah I wont really sell my 7700... but I can not deny I feel a little upset because AMD really seems to have used all its cards with Ryzen.

I only seem to know about the curse part.  lol

I agree that Ryzen does seem rather tempting.  It might be fun to get a R3 or R5 (to save money) to use for Folding@Home or BOINC.  I've been thinking about getting into one or both of those.

It would give me an excuse to build extra computers and put them to good use.  ?

@Ithanul What do you think about the idea?  Would an R3 or R5 be suitable for Folding or BOINC?

Thanks for the x300 bit, that's exactly what I've been looking for.  I'm not going to pretend like I've done tons of research on different chipsets, been busy lately.  I guess I could add a320, but I don't think many people on these forums have much interest.

As far as pre-ordering, I seriously hope some retailers offer up pre-orders before release date since demand seems so high so you can get an early place in line.

*tips hat*

You'd be surprised, those that are on a super tight budget will probably be looking at them as they should be super cheap.

Yeah. I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention of how many are being released or anything. Hopefully they've been producing the chips for quite a while.
