The i7-4710HQ is faster but runs hotter.  The excellent cooler on the Aorus makes it worthwhile

Oops, srry, thinking of 5th gen.  i7-4710HQ is 0.1 Mhz slower

Guys, relax about amazon and the sellers, In terms of buying from amazon, we in the uk dont purhcase our laptops from amazon unless we really need to. As far as that laptop goes, it looks nice, specs are nice, and price, however I have never in my life heard of that company, they might be an amazing company which make amazing laptops but I think for my investment I would safely prefer to go with something more known or at least something I've heard off.

Your suggestion for the msi gs60 is really good, the laptop as far as I can see is perfect for what I'm after but I don't believe that price is accurate because the laptop seems too good to be true

Look at the original pricing, 1700 euro.  its reasonable.  The laptop is 3 generations old - we have 7th gen now, its 4rth.  It has DDR3 and is likely unsellable at the original price.   This is the only way to sell such a device, especially if there is overstock.

Just had a look at that msi on google, that laptop goes for £1k plus, the £500 amazon one is a scam :(

To be fair, GS60 is a solid laptop.  Also, go on youtube and search Aorus.  I'm super jealous of Europeans because getting an Aorus laptop in Canada cost a fortune

It does look really nice but sadly way out of my budget so back to square one again I guess :(

Ill be sure to check some reviews of the Aorus.

You just said it yourself lol, top 3 for "PC" stuff, not laptop stuff, all my friends purchased their computer parts from amazon and so on, but never laptops.

Go with something you're comfortable with.  I refer back to my logic on the older Aorus but you should stick with what your comfortable with

Lol, ebay you're guaranteed a refund if something's wrong, amazon same situation but in this case we saw that the seller is dodgy so we didn't go for it. Same for the msi laptop, the seller had 1 star review.

Keep in mind that most mobile i7's are dual core.  When you look at mobile, there is very little difference between i3/i5/i7.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

Okay so do you think i should just stick to getting an i5? I just don't want to get an i5 and find that I missed out on getting an i7

Yeah, the  intel i7 4710, 57XX, 6700HQ are quad hyperthreaded

i7 6500u is dual core hyper-threaded - BASICALLY an i3

Look at ARK to see how many cores it has.  Plenty of i5's are dual core as well.  The label is almost meaningless.
