How do I get more voltage in my GPU?

FluffyNuggets

I seem to be locked down to 1.212v on the 780 Classified. I've already flashed the BIOS and it doesn't go any higher.

I tried the Afterburner unlock thing but it didn't work. I know you can unlock 1.3v but it's not working for me anyways.

Another thing, does the EVBot work for the 780 Classy Hydro? If so where do I buy one?

I know I can get more out of this card but I don't know how to get past the voltage limit.

I'm locked to 1.175 on my EVGA 660 Ti, seems there's no way around it that I've found.

You probably aren't allowed on EVGA GPUs, locked voltage probably

Sorry, I really hate that.

You can put a unlocked BIOS on it but it will void your warranty.

Are grammar Nazis even allowed  to do that :P

If grammar Nazi's aren't allowed to do it then who else would?

Not really since EVGA even tells people where to get them.

So I've been looking around to find a EVBot and it seems they are sold out and discontinued now. So that's awesome, I buy a 780 Classified with the EVBot connector and you can't even buy it now. Might have to call EVGA tomorrow because I'm not happy that it's marketed to use something but you can't use it.

There's gotta be a way to unlock it further since people are running higher voltages than me without the EVBot.

Alright figured out how to unlock 1.35 voltage. Man are my temps spiking. Went from 38c to 46c! So far, seems stable at 1411Mhz Core and 1702 Memory.

Oh sorry lol.

This is for Classified version of cards so it may not help you.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1411500/official-evga-classified-owners-club

Scroll down till you see GTX 780, 770, 680 Classified Software Overvoltage Tool

Once you do it it won't tell you the correct voltage in any monitoring program. You know it works because your temps skyrocket. Be wary about using the full 1.35v because your temps get high! My card never hit past 38c at 1.212v and now I'm seeing like 46c which is a huge difference on water.

BTW, it's the top slider that you move to change voltage. Don't mess with the bottom two.

You can see if it works just be careful not to go to high. You can set it to slightly higher than what you get and then try overclocking and see if your unstable OC is now stable.

I have a sapphire card that said it was locked on afterburner. I use Asus GPU tweak and it allows me to change the voltage.

EVGA Classified is able to push well above Nvidia voltage restrictions, you shouldn't have an issue at all.

Which BIOS are you using for your 780?

Akula  | Dimastech Test Bench | Watercooled | Tri GTX 680's | Build of the Week

Mercury | Caselabs Mercury S3 | Watercooled | GTX Titan | Build of the Week

Armada | Define R4 Titanium | Watercooled | EK Waterblocks | Newest Buildlog

It can push through the voltage just not allowed without some modding. Im using the SkyLN2 BIOS currently. It was still locked till I download the Classified Voltage thing. Now it's a stable 1410 Core and 1700 Memory which is really good.

Can anyone confirm or deny if this works for an EVGA GTX 660 Ti FTW Signature 2 2GB? I would really like some concrete evidence before I risk trying it.

Ha, I'll go ahead and run it later today and post my results. Might see if I can get the memory even higher first.

At those clocks you should be at roughly my score i believe, perhaps higher.

Classified, at-least the older cards were equipped with Samsung memory, so you should easily be able to push 1800Mhz on the memory.

I'll just run it right now and see what happens. I can always update it later if needed.

Well, I don't think I'm gonna come close. I got around to 1700 on the memory and it was artifacting like crazy.

I think the card still might be voltage restricted because it's throttling itself. I went higher on the core and memory but it actually started giving worse benchmarks by like 4 fps. I'm getting around 79 using the preset you wanted. Might have to try again later since I'm extremely tired and I don't want to jack anything up.

@Akula

Should I drop my core clock all the way down and raise my memory up to get a higher score? Raising the core doesn't seem to be doing anything but hurting results. I did come close by getting I think 43 fps but I can't post it since I don't remember what clock that was at since it started dropping lower after that.

Like I said, I'll try again when I get some sleep but I doubt I'll beat you. Your Memory OC is just insane and I doubt I can get anywhere near that. I must have the cheap memory in my card instead of the Samsung. I heard there was a mix of Classifieds with Samsung and the other stuff. Knowing my luck I got the other stuff they put on cheap cards.

There comes a point where increasing memory gives a worse score. Never saw it mentioned that a higher core clock gives a worse score. Probably throttling. Be it because of temps or power restriciton. You can see it in the log if your GPU core throttled.

I checked and the core was consistent so maybe I hit a wall. I even tested with 1500mhz on the core and I got a worse score lol. I guess I'll have to tweak it and drop the memory down since it seems to be messing up the result. If I can't get a good score with 1500Mhz Core Clock than it's just not gonna happen I don't think.

If only I could find the EVBot because I could get so much more voltage out of the card. Might hit 2000Mhz on the memory
