140mm Case Fans

ReapingRob

Hello friendly LTTers,

Just need some quick advice. Looking for a replacement fan for my H440 on the back panel as the stock fan is shuddering REALLY loudly now  + I wanted to get a new one anyway. Just wondering if you guys had suggestions for a quiet yet powerful fan. Static colour is welcomed + advice on what colour would go with my Black/Red H440. Budget is $20. I will kiss you if you know if I can purchase it easily in Indonesia!

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

HF14 or HP14? 1 euro difference, which one is better? I know the HP is PWM, HF is not but looking at Cooling Technique videos it turns out HP pushes more air somehow? And they seem super quiet

The HP-14 has a higher max rpm and isn't as quiet as the HF-14.

Out of the two, the HF-14 would be better as an exhaust fan.

Can you link us to where you're shopping?

I'm currently looking at http://www.enterkomputer.com/ and they have 140mm Pure Wings 2's and Silent Wings 3's which would be excellent.

I'm basically guiding myself somewhat with this review and the cooling technique videos (for sound). I'm not sure how valid their testing method is but it seems to show many different conditions and what you can expect

https://uk.hardware.info/reviews/6622/5/tested-71-case-fans-of-140-mm-round-up-big-fans-test-results-the-best-cooling-case-fans

As for my choice, silent wings are more than i'd like to pay, currently my "premium" choices are the ph-f140mp and the venturi fans, but i was kind of driven away from the venturi's http://thermalbench.com/2016/03/12/fractal-design-venturi-hp-14-140mm-fan/4/ they don't seem to justtify such a high price. The HF could be worth it? The slightly cheaper option would be the fractal dynamic GP-14 or the "x2" version, and  even cheaper still the pure wings 2 (these are my primary choice). They are quiet but can't really move much air based on my googling around. I'm using a nzxt s340 elite which is quite restrictive so for the 2 intake fans i assume i should get something with more SP.

TL;DR

case - nzxt s340 elite

Phanteks PH-F140MP - current "premium" choice (seems perfect on paper, not sure if worth the price though)

COUGAR GAMING CFD White LED 14cm - looks solid, no idea how it compares

Be quiet! pure wings 2 - current "budget" choice (great price, quiet, not sure if they can move a decent amount of air given the circumstances)

The main problem is that i have no idea how much this choice would affect the overall temperature of my case and is it in fact THAT important. Probably overthinking this too much.. I'm not the OP, sorry for the hijack lol

The S340 isn't that restrictive. PW2's would work well in it.

Any of the mentioned case fans would be better than the stock fans and work fine. It doesn't make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things unless you need to run them at their minimum rpm.

Cougar Dual-X's are good but aren't amazing and not recommended if you don't need led fans.

PH-F140MP's are good but aren't as quiet as Venturis.
