What graphics card should I get?

Due to the fact that some stuff that I forgot I owned and is a lot worth more than I thought (it's worth £50, I assumed it was worth £15-20), plus  have other stuff as well that racks up quite a bit (again I forgot about it) I have about £140-£160 to spend on a new GPU, so what should I get, I can get a fancy new 1050 ti, or a RX 460, the other option is to buy used off of CEX, and then I will need to chose between a couple of cards,

RX 470 4GB - £165 (I'm willing to spend an extra £5 for this, if it's the best option)

1050 ti 4GB - £155 (dearer than what it is new, for some reason I don't know)

R9 290X 4GB - £145

GTX 780 3GB - £140 (older card but I thought I would shove it in in case it is worth it)

GTX 960 4GB - £140

R9 380X 4Gb - £140

 

which one offers the best price? And should I go used or should I go new?

Out of all of those the R9 290X is definitely the fastest. But it's not a new card, if you're fine with buying used then it's the best buy (provided it's not a reference version cause those are hot & loud), if you prefer new then it's worth it to get the 470.

Rx 470 is the best option here since I'm assuming that's a reference 290x.

Seriously tho the 290x is the fastest of those options, but probably the thirstiest aswell. 

best power/price/performance ratio card here is the 1050ti

The 290x is comparable to my gtx 970 which is hella powerful.  Although you will need a 750 watt psu

You should care. If you buy used, it might have been used for bitcoin mining meaning it's been heavily used for very long periods of time. So the card may essentially barely work and if you buy it and it breaks without a warranty within a few days, you essentially threw your money into the garbage

290X is more comparable to a GTX 980 on current drivers tbh, and no, for a single 290X even a 550W PSU would suffice, but just to be safe a 650W one is recommended.

In that case I wouldn't risk it, the reference design is really bad and as others pointed out they are more likely to have been abused for mining. The 470 is almost as fast, go for that.

I think he is getting it from cex so he would get a 1 year warranty

That's an exaggeration Even a regular 290 non-X is around 10% faster than a 470 on average

it is whichever card they send you but they didn't sell many reference cards in the uk so he would have to be very unlucky to get one

15% is not what I would call a drastic difference, I wouldn't say that "almost as fast" is an exaggeration.

I get a 1 year warranty with the card, and the 470, is also going to be used, the only two that I can get that aren't used are the 1050 ti and a 460

No reason to get a 460 or 1 50ti when a 470 already outperforms both.

I would get a 470 for it being newer but is it a reference too?

If it does not thermal throttle or strangle the CPU with its overhead? o3o How ever if it has a good cooler and a good CPU paired with it sure it is the far superior GPU!

I have an i5 4590, so CPU isn't a problem
