searching for a smartphone remote app to work with LG UH603V SMART TV

couple of days ago I bought a UHD HDR TV, the LG UH603V

the only issue I have with it is the retarded and crammed remote control (the one that shipped with the TV) - it's a fucking nightmare to access and use the app features of the TV, it's OK if you only use the basic TV functions

 

went on Google's PlayStore and tried a couple of LG remote apps

the only one that actually saw the TV and connected to it was LG webOS Magic Remote by LG Electronics RUSSIA R&D Lab - the problem is that I can only make it to mute the sound  everything else doesn't do anything

 

 

if anyone else had a similar issue to mine and found a good app, please share

Sometimes your cable box remote works on the tv. have you checked that?

the set-top box remote is very basic and does not work with the TV

I've only ever used peel but IDK if it would work without an IR blaster

nop, requires IR blaster

sometimes LG remotes are cross compatible so maybe try another LG smart remote you like.

IDK if this is the case with all so check first before you buy another

I found the LG official recommended app, LG TV Plus, and figured out how to make it work - the problem with the app is that it doesn't see the TV unless you disable and enable the LG Connected Apps in the TV's menu
